Can it be that man utd are just not that good, or certainly not as good as the media and the supporters believe them to be. Don't get me wrong, there's certainly some top talent in that squad, but that isn't always enough. Also I think it's prudent to point out the top calibre of players and clubs you're playing against week in and week out. I personally also think it's fair to point out that for whatever reason, injuries and suspensions etc. There has been no real consistency in team selection week by week. Solskjaer hadn't done anything before utd, so why would he have been expected to have done anything in the short time he has been there. You lost to wolves in the cup. No shame in that. You lost to barca, again no shame in that and a top 4 finish is very much in sight. As well as utd have done to be within a shout of a top 4 finish is also down to some inconsistencies of those close to them in the table, but that's just football, it doesn't just happen to utd. I look at klopp and I personally don't quite feel it's right to judge him yet, he has this summer and then for me, this is his Liverpool squad, at the end of next season I will fully judge the man. Has he progressed, yes without a seconds hesitation. Will Solskjaer achieve greatness at utd, who knows. Will he sign the right players and not just the commercially correct players, again who knows. But personally and not that I really care, I would hope people would give the man at least 3 or 4 years to prove himself or else yes my friend, you are absolutely correct in questioning the appointment in the first place. To reach 2 quarter finals and be in with a shout of 4th placed position to me must be seen as progress.

There defence is and forward are not as good as the top 2 and there manager is not in the same class. This is why.
