Maybe it's me and the way I think, but Guardiola saying "Both Liverpool and ManC deserve to win the EPL title" is really surprising. To me it hints at a bit of weakness, some lack of self belief and no overwhelming self-confidence (which is the need of the hour if you absolutely want to win) . Being fair and polite is all nice and everything, but come on. It's the deciding point of the battle for the season. I don't know of any other coach who would declare another team deserved the title while the chase was still on.

I wouldn’t read into comments too much to be honest, especially as English isn’t even his first language, what he’s saying is true as well.

What and if he said Liverpool don’t deserve it, that wouldn’t rile us up? If anything he’s raising the pressure.

My golden rule - always disregard what players and managers say to the cameras 👍.

Both he and Klopp are saying the same thing - two fantastic sides and both would have won the league hands down in years gone by so both would be worthy winners.

It’s true, and don’t think it’s an admission of weakness, it’s just trying to take pressure off the players. If they can stop players from thinking coming second is a disaster and complete failure, it’s more likely they will play their natural game and not tighten up in the run-in.

I agree with that golden rule. Plus who knows what stupid question he was answering. Football reporters ask the most insipid questions to get the answers they want for their pre-planned story.

Hes either being humble and respectful or playing mind games and putting pressure on us.

Yeah, mind games imo. Tbh I'm not fussed at what he has to say, he's 2nd in the league and will be at the end, that'll do me, anything else is irrelevant.

Roll on us lifting that trophy. There can be only one as highlander would say and its Liverpool, mind games won't work with this team, we're about to witness something special, let's enjoy it :) .

Pep ain't a bad bloke imo, look how they ran away with it last season, i think they had already won it at this stage. They strengthened in the summer but we have been toe to toe with them all this year. He gave us praise. And it was praise that is deserved. I don't see an issue. Klopp also said "whoever wins it deserves it.
