Hi eds and reds. Question coming from a non liverpudlian reds fan. Despite not being born in liverpool i promise you, i love LFC as much as any man.

The allez allez allez chant. Did we invent that? If so, when and is there a story behind it.

{Ed001's Note - it was a chant already but the words were changed to suit.}

Sorry for my ignorance ed01. Changed to suit what mate? A certain player?

Thanks for the response btw ed01.

{Ed001's Note - to suit Liverpool. It is a foreign song.}

Ah, thanks. It is a class chant. Think we'll do it ed01?

{Ed001's Note - no way I can answer that without giving a prediction!}

Robbiesline, I understand it to be a 1980s disco hit from Italy. It was taken up by Napoli supporters before spreading across the rest of Europe. Like Ed001 said, we put our own lyrics to it and it became our European anthem last season on our way to CL final.

If you take our new words to the allez allez allez chant, they fit perfect (and would sound better IMO) to The Who's Pinball Wizard.

I’ve always wondered why our words aren’t “From London down to Turkey” instead of “From Paris down to Turkey “?
Wembley 78 and all that.
