Can't wait for the champions league!

We have been given a favourable draw but we musn't take Porto for granted. At Anfield for the first leg, ideally we can come with a good win and a clean sheet.

If we do get through i would love to play and knock out Barcelona. Revenge for the manner of which Suarez and Coutinho forced their way out!

Thank you for this Ed, great read. Question for you please. Which side is under more pressure in your opinion, Liverpool for the league, or Man City for Champions League? I'd argue that Man City is under more pressure. If we were to play them in the final, I think they'd be way too tight and nervous. Also, just an opinion based on reading this, if I knew nothing about anything I'd say that Liverpool had the best shot at winning the Champions league just on the fact that they are the most complete side, assuming we don't have any additional injuries and everyone comes back healthy. Also, if we do win the league and we end up in the final, we will be on such a high and confidence will be through the roof. What an exciting time!

{Ed001's Note - I think both are under an immense amount of pressure, it is just a totally different kind of pressure. Liverpool's pressure is all external, mainly from the fans, who have become particularly whiny and willing to moan and groan throughout the match rather than sing and chant in support of the team.

City's is all internal. Their fans, which sometimes reach as many as 5 at these games, have never forgiven UEFA after a spat over how UEFA shafted them a few years back. So they really couldn't care less if City win the Champions League or not. However the owners have done everything in pursuit of European glory, so there is a lot of pressure coming from them.}

===========================

And you don't think City are a complete side . many (professionals in football with out tented glasses) would argue that City are a complete squad, that's why they already won a cup and competing as one of the favourites in another 3 . where we Liverpool crashed out of 2 competitions very early one . (and I can assure you that was n't a master plan of Klopp ), and yeah he told me and he is very disappointed not going further in the cups.

Ed001: [. Their fans, which sometimes reach as many as 5 at these games, ]

You do know their average attendance is few thousands more than ours and considering this also include cup games . Just saying.
But yes I completely 100% agree with you on the pressure element, Our owners expects a trophy this year and that must be huge pressure on Klopp.

{Ed001's Note - sense of humour bypass? Perhaps you need to stop trying to be a dick and check, because they have struggled to get the stadium half full for Champions League nights as a large portion of their fans actively boycott the competition. And their average attendance is not 'few thousands more than ours' anyway, even just in the Premier League it is not even 2000. And in the Champions League our average attendance is about the same as their highest attendance of this season.}

Ed01, I disagree totally with your characterisation of Liverpool fans as being ‘particularly whiny and willing to moan and groan throughout the match rather than sing and chant in support of the team’. I attend every game in every competition at Anfield, have done for many years, and that is simply not my experience. I accept that the atmosphere is not always what it could or should be but the old place does still rock at times. In my opinion, the whiners and moaners are on social media and websites such as this. I would be interested in the views of other regular matchgoers.

{Ed001's Note - if you say so.}

Thanks Ed, I'm really looking forward to watching all of these ties now.

Great suggestion for an article Stone- my bro from another era ;)

Ed001- re Dustan Tadic, why do struggling teams such as Saints often loan out their best player?

{Ed001's Note - he was inconsistent for them and the manager at the time didn't want him.}

I read that too, Stuie. Interesting that he regards us as the complete team, rather than City.

Can't argue with him. City are more of a complete squad, but we have the complete team.
