Hello eds. Not LFC related but would still like to hear your views on it ed2.

Cardiff are apparently refusing to honour the Sala transfer fee, supposedly claiming it's non-binding.
It was very much common cause that the deal was completed. Sala was travelling to (physically) join up with his new club when sad tragedy befell him.

So in what scenario would Cardiff be able to legally cop out of this one? Do they have a case here or they just clutching at straws? Is there a precedent for something like this.

I appreciate that without knowing the details of the contract we'd be speculating, but would still like your comments.
Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - The submission for the TMS had been made but there were details to be sorted out with The FA. They had already insured the player and the player had an agreement to complete the transfer. As far as I am concerned Cardiff are already in breach of their contract and they are acting very distirbingly.}

Surely there will be some kind of insurance in place to cover the fee Ed002? If yes then why all the fuss? If no then that sounds like a massive cock-up.

{Ed002's Note - There is a disparity in the insurance of what I understand to be less than £4M but future costs will go up. Clubs should not behave this way.}

Thought so myself. Nothing short of disingenuous from Cardiff there.
Really hope it gets resolved quickly and Nantes get what they due.

Appreciate the thoughts ed.

{Ed002's Note - Nantes are not the only club being screwed.}

Great reply edd and sport on about cardiff.

And the media who tries
to paint the french club as greedy and insensitive should sat the record straight.

I get the feeling a lot of dirty laundry may come to the surface on what takes place with transfer on this one.

Agreed ed002, it all kind of stinks, Cardiff should stump up the cash!

Hey Ed, is it his past clubs that are being screwed out if a percentage?

{Ed002's Note - GdB only.}

Shocking behaviour, especially when you consider the amount they're paying out of pocket. Very unseemly given the tragic demise of both the player and the pilot.

I know the case has only just got underway, but surely they won't be allowed to do this Ed?

{Ed002's Note - There is no doubt that regardless of any discussions with FIFA there will be a full legal challenge. I have no idea how it will pan out.}

Omg if Cardiff follow this course of action surely even their most die hard fans would have a good hard look at what they're supporting, as for the rest the footballing world they'd be outcasts, disgracefull.

{Ed002's Note - Let it run and see what happens.}

For me it should have been sorted straight away with the whole football world rallying together to help out. Really disappointing. All clubs perfectly happy to fork up for a leaving gift for scudamore but no one is helping when utter tragedy strikes. Almost everything about football except the game itself is pathetic and horrendous almost a genuine disgrace to humanity.

Massive lack of respect from Cardiff refusing to honour this deal. Pay up and let the man rest in peace. They already let the man down by allowing him to travel the channel in a light aircraft held together by duct tape when he should of been in first class. Poor man's family mustn't be able to grieve properly with all this nonsense going on.
