Does anyone agree with my thoughts that Mane has been our best player this season? Yes he has missed a few chances but is just a goal or 2 behind Salah now. His work rate in working back to help Robbo our is noticeable in most games and he interchanges with others. He isn't greedy which is perhaps his downfall at times but in general our most consistent player this season IMO. Along with Virgil for different reasons.

Van Dijk is my player of the season and by a fair bit as well.

Certainly an argument to be made for Mane being our best attacking player this season, but its hard to say. Mane is certainly our most in-form attacker at the minute, but I think I'd still personally have Salah ahead of him for his overall contribution to the season.

Fully agree. He's been the one consistently making stuff happen for a while now.

Defo van dijk for me, good shout would be winaldum not his biggest fan but he's been top class this season.

Mane has been our best forward all season. There's been times where the other two have been off form but he's been the most consistent defo.

There are so many candidates. Mane has been outstanding recently but he did go through a month or so of poor form. Klopp quite rightly let him play his way through it and he has come back even better then ever.

Candidates for player of season have to include Robbo and Gini for consistent strong performances Gomez for reaching a level nobody knew he could reach, Salah for being so effective in tying up defenders to create space and Fabinho in moving from last to first on the teamsheet.

For me though on another level are Allison and Virgil. The difference those two male to the team puts them as my players of the season. VVD edges it purely because when I watch him I don’t understand how he makes defending so easy.

Allison, hands down for me. The likes of Mane, Salah or Bobby or even Robbo, are kind of known quantities in a way cos we already either know for sure (the front 3 and VVD) that they are the real deal or that they have too much upside and margin of progression (Robbo) . I also NEVER criticize our front 3 that much cos one or two could be off form BUT NEVER all three of them off form at the same time. Kudos to them, IMO for staying the course and bailing each other and us out every time.

Allison on the other hand, is to me, the biggest reason we have been in the title race word go this season. This is his first season and his infuence on the team after just the first few months, is the type that took the likes of DDG 3 years to attain. Yeah, Alli is THAT good. And he will only get better.

Yeah Allison for me too.

Alberto Moreno for me!

1) Van Dijk
2) Alisson
3) Mane/ Wijnaldum/ Fabinho

For me 👍.

Virgil. No contest.

Its so great to see so much competition between our players for player of the year.

There are cases to be made for all of the above, VVD, Alisson, Mane, Gini, Fab (later on in the season) even Robbo and Trent.

Just shows how much the team has stepped up even in the last 12 months.

Long may it continue!

I think salah getting double teamed is a big reason mane is getting more goals.

13.) 11 Mar 2019

The main question to ask is, who would we miss most if they were out? Surely the answer is simple, VVD? Yes Mane is scoring some goals, but others do and can chip in. If Virg is out we all hold our breath on every attack or set piece.

14.) 11 Mar 2019

It is VVD there is no discussion needed. Without him we wouldn't have got to last years final and we wouldn't challenge for the title. Allison has of course been very good but will be better next year. He is still adapting to the prem.

Mane has been better than last season and hope he continues his goalscoring form. He has been our main goalscorer for a few months winning us plenty points. If Mane gets around 22 league goals he will of had a top season playing from the wing and defending the way he does.

I think mane has really stepped up this year specifically since xmas he has without a doubt been our best forward. Gini has finally added some consistency to his game and has been really good.
Vvd and allison have both been superb all season
However for me its what players step up or continue to perform over the next 8 crucial games that will decide how we can judge them on the season
Just my tuppence worth.

16.) 11 Mar 2019
11 Mar 2019 21:36:58
VVD by a long way Gini is second Gomez was fighting with it with VVD till his injury shows what a massive miss he has been. Fab has been good but did not get in the team early enough to come close. And all the front 3 have been a bit up and down this season. Allison has been great to this season made us so much stronger back there but he does put your heart in your mouth a few times.

17.) 11 Mar 2019
11 Mar 2019 21:40:44
I get what your saying about VVD, but Ming's back in goal, head wobble time, just say no!

18.) 11 Mar 2019
11 Mar 2019 22:29:09
In all fairness, VVD has to be excluded from any discussion of our player of the season for one very good reason. He is bigger, stronger, jumps higher, runs faster and is more powerful than the rest. No human being could possibly make defending look so easy. He is clearly an alien. Of the humans, Mane would be my choice for his goals and work rate - and his complete inability to celebrate a goal properly.

19.) 11 Mar 2019
11 Mar 2019 22:32:58
Difficult to argue with VVD but Robertson has also performed week in and out, goes below the radar can't think of him being injured or taken off.

20.) 11 Mar 2019
11 Mar 2019 22:33:20
One word, Ming's, Allison all day long.

21.) 11 Mar 2019
11 Mar 2019 22:42:38
Virgil by a long shot. I can't even remember him making a serious mistake this season. Gini, Mane, Allisson and Fab have all been superb but have all had a poor spell mid-season. Van Dyke, however, has been sublime.

22.) 12 Mar 2019
12 Mar 2019 08:16:01
Idontlikeklopp - Allison may be a “Flash” in the pan?

23.) 12 Mar 2019
12 Mar 2019 10:41:11
VVD by a long way for me.
Allison second.
Third is more tricky, could be wijinaldum, Fabinho, mane and even Gomez for me.

24.) 12 Mar 2019
12 Mar 2019 12:16:31
Best defender = vvd
Best midfielder = gini or fab
Best forward = mane

But robbo, trent, milner, salah and firmino all deserve shouts. Alisson also.

25.) 12 Mar 2019
12 Mar 2019 17:49:30
Allison or Virgil for me too tbh. Mane been very good recently but had a bit of a blip too, though they all rotate that, front 3 together generally have been great but the defence looks proper solid since those two entered the fray

Gomez until his injury would have had a great shout too, was honestly great at cb.
