So fellow reds,

With 12 games left, how are we feeling about the title run in?

Win 12 games or win 11 and draw 1 and we will be champions. The question is are we capable of doing that?

Watching City yesterday, unfortunately they looked back to their very best from last season. Will they drop many more points from now til May?

Hard questions to answer. Both of our run ins are very similar with the utd games probably playing a big part in where the title goes.

All I can say is let's enjoy the ride, the team has done great so far. Yes it'd be very disappointing if we didn't win it this year, considering the position we were in/ could be in. Whatever happens I think we should be proud of the team and get behind them as much as we can. Let's hope we can get over the line.

J am thinking we'll lose 1, draw 1 and win the rest. We're going to win this league mate.

Thing is I can see City loosing any games from here including Utd. Think they will finish on 98points. It’s going to be a struggle unless we win every game. Utd and Eve away will be huge tests for us as will Spurs and Chelsea at Anfield.

*cant.

I see us winning 10, likely losing at United and drawing vs Chelsea.
Where that'll put us I don't know.
Thing is I can also see City failing to win another 2 games.

I think it likely that United, Chelsea and Spurs games will probably decide it, with few if any shock results.
And it's in these big games where City edges it for me.

Of course there may possibly be another Newcastle lurking around. Another West Ham.
There's no nailing it down 100%.

Both City and us could win all our remaining matches (good for us) . Equally we could botch it again in 3 or more games.

I've decided that it's probably pointless predicting or forecasting outcomes, really. It will be what it will be. No one knows. Only certainty is that it's literally in our hands. But even that is no guarantee that we won't flunk it.

Gonna be an interesting few months. Or it won't.

I think we'll be favourites again as soon as we're done with beating United.

Then the attitude of the fans will change from nervous to confident and the players will feel it.

City thought they were going to steamroll the league and that is what went against them. Whoever thought they would lose 4 games aginst midtable and bottom teams? City certainly didn't.
Regardless of how we do I think City will drop points in some of their last five games. Let City score 10 goals a game, it's still only three points, and will encourage teams to park the bus even more and hope for a breakaway goal.
We have lost one game this season and are still in this race, and people need to stop listening to SSN, BBC sports, etc. you would think it was Liverpool that had lost four games.
It's still in our own hands.

Pointless to compare, so many variables. What if City advance far in the champs league? Are they going to continue to field there strongest team in the premier league with the possibility of winning a trophy that has eluded them for this long?

What if we lose to Bayern? What if we advance? What if Aguero gets injured? What if Salah gets injured?

I'm enjoying the ride, but I have a good feeling about this year.

City do have a lot more games to play. I just hope that has a negative affect on them at some point because they are a machine when they get going like they are at the moment.
We've been able to stay with them this far so I do expect it going down to the wire. If we can keep everyone fit then I think we will take it by a point or 2.

Surely all the twists and turns we’ve had so far show we should stop predicting what will happen? City we’re battering everyone before that slump as well.

Let’s just enjoy the ride and cheer the boys on, then see where we end up.

That Chelsea team yesterday were woeful. I would rather be in our position than in cities so they should be the ones worrying.

Why do people all of a sudden think a team that has lost four in 26 will suddenly win 12 from 12?Anyone would think yesterday was the first hiding they've handed out all season.

We hace to play 4 hard games Everton United Tottenham and Chelsea and City only 2 Tottenham and United. This games will impact in our title hopes of course if any lose against a top 6 outsider is Game over.

Spot on, Little Naby. Beggars belief really. The whole "I can't see City dropping any points" stuff need to put that to bed cos Palace, Chelsea, Leicester and esp. Newcastle has debunked that talking point, royally. Also, Pep after the Everton game said he expects City to drop points so there's that.

Having said that, this is TOO close to call, IMO. Too many twists and turns have happened already that anyone calling this a City or LFC title cannot be believed. City and their sheep in the media are the ones hyping them up after they beat Chelsea 6-0, a result that has NO bearing on us except we allow it to. We have to just focus on our own football.

The fact that we are STILL standing tall after all our issues of late, is a testament to this manager and these fantastic players who put their bodies and health on the line every week to realize something that few think is still possible. One game at a time and we will see what happens.

VakPa, so one of our ‘hard’ games is Chelsea at Anfield,
the same Chelsea who lost 4-0 at Bournemouth and 6-0 at City. How does that work then?

It’s a long old season fellas and whoever ends up top of the pile in May fully deserve it. We’ve enjoyed a hell of a run but also picked up points we arguably didn’t deserve (Man City draw, Origi at Everton and more recently Leicester and West Ham) so there’ll be no sour grapes from me if City go on an amazing run now. We haven’t got the squad they have and the recent injuries have disrupted our performances. Just staying the distance with them deserves credit and is a huge improvement on last year. Personally I still think there’s a few tweaks required. Another classy option up top, a fully firing Keita and Ox plus a quality CB option would make us a very realistic possibility for next year IF we run out of legs and luck again.

Oh come on Wirral Wonder, they’ve also already beat us this season in the cup and have top class players. 2 very poor results does not stop them potentially taking points off us.

KK92, you are right and I phrased my post badly. I just do not regard Chelsea as any more a ‘hard’ game than say, Wolves at home. The truth is we have 12 hard games left. Chelsea appear to have thrown their hand in, certainly in away games. I watched their game against City yesterday and they were woeful.

18.) 11 Feb 2019
11 Feb 2019 18:53:47
KK92 make not mistake about it, Chelsea can still hurt us esp. with Hazard as we seem to never have an answer for him.

The simple answer to the op is simply no. By George I want it to happen though.

12 Feb 2019 07:49:44
Well Walter, if you look at the results against the same 12 teams earlier this season you will see we won 11 and drew 1.
So the simple answer is not ‘no’ the simple answer is ‘yes’ we can win 11 and draw 1 against those teams because that’s exactly what we have done already this season.

🏆🏆.
