What's everyone's on Wilson for next season?

Personally I'd like to see him go back out on loan to either another team you will likely me in the mix of it in the championship or better still if he'd be guaranteed playing time then a team in the premiership. For me he needs playing time to develop and if he comes back to us next season he might get two cup games before we're knocked out and the odd run out. Can't see the benefit of him coming back to us, what's everyone's else's view? Also ed02 what would you like to see as I think as a club we've been guilty of stagnating youngsters careers.

Personally I would love him to be ready for our squad next season, he gives us an option off the bench for salah or mane without spending a fortune. However I will say that all I have seen of him is goals and highlights so perhaps it will be too soon. I trust the club will give him pre-season and decide if he is ready for the step up or if he would benefit more from regular games.
First team experience us important but he could be learning from salah if he was in training week in week out.

He has played well in a good Championship side. Personally I would sell him, hopefully to a good Championship or low Premier League team and let him carry on with his career in the hope he progresses. For me he is way off the level for a team like Liverpool. He is young and he needs to play, no point waiting, in the hope that he gets a chance at LFC that, for me won't come.

Been a standout player at Derby and youth level, he can cover the wing and play CAM, I'd like him in the squad. Particularly if any of the front three get injured and Shaqiri needs to fill in, he'll be a great option from the bench. Its difficult to buy players who know they won't start, why bother forking the money out when Harry has impressed at both Hull and Derby.

Eamonsf, because if Wilson is waiting for one of the front 3 to get injured and then Shaqiri to need a rest, he will waste his career in our reserves. I’d say only bring him in if he’s going to get actual minutes and Klopp sees him as a proper 1st team player.

I would love for him to be a squad player mate and grow into a first team role as the others age. But the challenge is that Salah and Shaqiri are both left footed and play off the right inside. If he was right footed and could cover for Mane it would be a different story!

The longer he spends with Frank lampard the less chance we have of getting him back. If Derby get promoted then they will put in a bid for him imo, and it'll be hard for the lad to refuse.

I'd like to see him back in the first team next season. We haven't successfully brought through an attacking youngster for a long time, it used to be our bread and butter.

I hope Wilson, Duncan and brewster all fill spaces left by lallana, origi and sturridge. That said I would also like to see us buy a senior CF if we sell sturridge.

The point I was making was that he'd be of particular importance if there was an injury, not that an injury was the only way he'd get game time. The squad will need to be rotated regularly, especially if we go further in the english cup competitions, there were those who said Shaqiri wouldn't get game time.

You never know how a young player will adapt, he may raise his game he may not. If he's good enough, he'll get game time and could even usurp shaqiri's position in the squad if not he can be moved on. My point is more that he deserves the opportunity to see how he does, given his successful loans.

Wilson will get his chance in preseason to stake his claim for a squad position at LFC. The prob is as someone said, is that if Derby get promoted, a decision would have to be made whether he should fight for a squad position at LFC or go to Derby (loan or full transfer) where he will have will play every week in the PL at least for one season. At that point, it will be up to Klopp to either keep him (and give him certain guaranties of sufficient game time) or just let him go fulfill his career dreams elsewhere. We shall see.

Danny ward wasn’t signed permanently when Huddersfield were promoted.

I posted about this earlier, they're all Derby or Forest where i live, he's not playing as well as you might think, yes he's scored the obvious worldies but his overall game has been poor and that's come from season ticket holders, he's lightweight and needs to get stronger and apparently his tracking back isn't the best, he's in the best place to learn and grow, leave him where he is and let him learn his trade.

Pegleg, if you read my post, you will see that I said Wilson could be signed or loaned by Derby. Also, point of correction. Hudd did not sign Ward BUT wanted to have him on loan and Klopp vetoed it.

I see no reason why Wilson couldn’t take the place of Lallana in the squad. Some minutes here and there and cup games and decent cover at attacking mid and in the wing. If he’s as good as we all hope he is, he will prove it as Shaqiri has done. I love the kid and really think he and Brewster could join Trent as very good squad and first 11 players.

Well said.
Plays similarly to lallana with vision passes but has better shots at goal!

{Ed001's Note - you make him sound crap. He is nothing like Lallana, he doesn't take 55 touches when 1 will do or fart about doing Cruyff turn after Cruyff turn when there is no one within 50 yards of him.}

I think it's time for Mr. Wilson to come back home, in the summer, and either make a squad place for himself on a permanent basis or move on to greener pastures.

Wont be a popular opinion but his stock his high, we could sell him. I do not see a path for him in our team. It would be disappointing if we waste his career. Also i don't see him in the midfield or the front three. he lies in between both and that might no suit us or him much. I think he can be moved. Him and Kent can be sold for decent monies. Not much of chance will come their way.

I like the lad but I still don’t think he’s ready. I think he’d barely get a look in next year. We need to be improving every season as our competitors will be. Could you see him pushing for a spot at Chelsea, City or Spurs next year? If the answer if no the he won’t be pushing for a spot in our team .

And what about the forgotten lad Woodburn? He may not be sharp enough for the blades ;) but we all know what a talent he is.

Although we generally set up 433, there is a place for a player who can play between the mid and attack. Klopp almost signed fekir remember. Wilson can play in any of the 6 mid/ attack positions. That's an asset. We have to keep him.

I’d definitely keep Wilson in the squad. Knows where the goal is and would bring something different to the team.

I think it was macca making this point about quality depth, and if we had it then klopp would probably rotate more. Like city have 6 genuine starting calibre players in the attacking positions and make it work.

So regards Wilson, if he ia good enough to be rotated then itd make sense to keep him. If not, and he is literally there for cup games or injuries then imo we should loan him until he is of the required level or sell him.
