Just a random question partly related to the Wolves game last night. I noticed that they were allowed to take a towel from the ball boy and dry the ball before launching a throw in towards our penalty box, was wondering if Wolves were winning by a single goal would the ref consider this time wasting and book the player. just seems like a very odd thing to allow in this day and age. Interested in hearing your views. not that it makes a blind bit of difference to the outcome of the league!

{Ed002's Note - it is simply a aid and not any sort of conspiracy against Liverpool.}

Nearly every team that takes long throws does it.

Yeah. Don’t think it was anything off.

Also, was it at the Chelsea game yesterday that the ball boy got to the ball too early and resulted in a drop ball? Hope that someone gives a pat on his head to be sure he’s ok. A genuine mistake in his urgency to get the team going and the ball was rolling out anyway.

Wasn’t there something with Stoke when they did it to say that they had to make it available to both teams?

{Ed001's Note - yes, it is available to both teams when it is done.}

I remember special towels being reserved for Rory Delap at Stoke during the good old Tony Pulis days for long throws. No reason why that should not be allowed.

{Ed001's Note - we have them now when Gomez is in the team.}

OP, players wiping the ball with a towel (or their shorts, really) to get a better grip on the ball before launching it, happens all the time during games. There is nothing surprising about it.

Maybe it was the ball bot hazard kicked? 😂.
