He's not even been part of the defense that has stayed unbeaten. he's played what 3-4 games in that period. I do not see VVD, Gomez, Trent, robertson or Alisson coming out and saying something like this.

You all need to go and read the interview on the club's official website. The other media outlets have paraphrased his quotes and focused on a tiny bit of the interview to make him look bad/ over confident.

Read the full interview and he's actually been very balanced and realistic. Come on lads, this is Liverpool. The media have been trying to turn us against each other since Hillsborough. Ignore them. If it's not from the clubs official website, or this site, it's trash in my eyes.

It's action on the field that decides the results of football games. Not words (whatever they may be in whatever context) that are spoken off the field. Is there a connection? I feel like many fans will blow that quote out of proportion. He said the team can go undefeated, not that they will and he's hopeful to keep up the run. Frankly, that's what I would want him to say. I would rather the team be ready to win every match rather than show up and think they're bound to drop one eventually.

MK is correct. I have read the full interview and it NOTHING even related to what the "interview police" make it out to be. He gave an honest and humble assessment of where we are and said he would like us to go undefeated BUT stressing that we have to take it one game at a time. He never boasted about a darn thing nor did he put his foot in his mouth or anything like that. That is patently false to anyone who has read the transcript which I have. Robbo and VVD have said things more over the top than that and people said they are showing ambition BUT when Lovs does it, they say he is jinxing it. What does "jinxing it" even mean? If you think we will lose to Wolves or whoever cos Lovs or VVD or Robbo said something then I am also sure you believe in unicorns and pixie dust.

We will lose to whoever cos we were not good enough, end of story. And by the way to Waro (who has NOTHING good to say about LFC, the owners, Klopp or the players), only top players play a CL finals and WC final in the same season. Even Messi could top that in one season.
