Proof Klopp is a great coach and Mourinho is spent (if you need it! )

Wini, Robbi and Shaq all bought from relegated teams. Pogba World Cup winner.

Even the WC Pogba won, he was poor throughout the tournament as the real stars of that team were Mbappe, Lloris, Varane, Umtiti, Kante and Griezmann, IMO.

I don’t like Jose he’s a real jobs worth but if I’m honest I think United is the New England job, real poison chalice, he should be doing better no doubt but that club seems rotten to the core.

I’m not sure I agree that Pogba was “poor”,

I don’t think a team wins a World Cup if their key central midfielder has a pooor tournament.

He is very important to that France team.

Navy, then you prolly missed the part where Pogba was under immense pressure pre WC where Deschamps did not even know if he should start him or not. I watched majority of France's games and Pogba was poor, IMO. France won the WC by being a bus-parking counter attacking team, which is what Deschamps has always been as a manager. He had a spark of brilliance with Griezmann and the speed of Mbappe on the counter. The midfield was just there to make sure the defence never got breached. Croatia outplayed them (and their whole midfield with Pogba in it) for the most part so there is your proof. I propose you watch his WC games and see for yourself, mate. Cheers, man.

Pogba has done nothing for United since he joined. He's just a big daft clumsy version of Yaya Toure. All the laziness, none of the talent.

Until Liverpool win a title then, for me it's the LFC job that is the poisoned chalice. Remember as bad as Utd have been, Jose has won more trophies at Utd than Klopp has at Liverpool. Let's not get carried away over a get win.

I'd call Pogba a luxury player, but even that's generous. Luxury implies you actually get a benefit if you can afford to have it. I've a better term for players like Pogba: "Decorative Midfielder".

Plays a free role in midfield and 'decorates' the play with nice touches and bits of skill, but usually has no patience for the simple 'tick over' type of play, is prone to bouts of complete ineffectiveness, tracks back intermittently at best, and basically you need other players to actually run the game. Will definitely get found out if he has to play as a proper playmaker or is pushed further forward into a pure no. 10 role.

Sometimes you can build around a such player and he'll get assists and the goals and other times it doesn't work. But decorative midfielders are always a risk, will disappear when hard graft is needed.

It's not working at Man U, partly because the player doesn't seem to be arsed, partly because the players Jose has to run the game either aren't good enough (Herrera) or are finished (Matic), and partly because Jose's become a bad caricature of himself and usually doesn't set the team up in a manner that allows players to play in an even slightly creative fashion.

Or maybe I could save all those words and just call Pogba useless?

France's key midfielder is Kante not Pogba. Pogba just benefits from his hard work.

Pogba will do alright in the right environment.

Good call Irish, if klopp and mourinho left their post tomorrow, who woukd have had the most successful tenure!? I know its not as simple as that, but fact remains we need to rubberstamp our clear progress with a title. That will enhance Klopp's legacy further.

Irish I really don’t get statements like that it implies that trophies, no matter which ones and how you win them are the most important thing. They are not. Yes he’s won a couple of trophies at Utd but give me Liverpool’s last 2 seasons over Utd’s any day of the week.
We have seen real progress whereas they are in serious decline. I would be massively worried if I were a Utd fan right now.

Pogba is quality. however maybe he just does not suit the premier league. our midfield do so.

i think the best response to what i've heard about the Pogba issue is best articulated by Souness when he was quizzed to choose between Shaqiri and Pogba.

In essence, he said, this shouldn't even be a question if Pogba was working hard.

And he is right! Pogba should be discussed in the same light as Silva, KDB is to Man City, Hazard is to Chelsea, Messi to Barcelona, Ronaldo to Real and now Juve. That should be the kind of impact he should be having on Utd, regardless of the manager. Because when you have talent and hard work, only a dross can keep you out! And much as Mourhino is having a bad time, even he can still spot a good and hardworking player.

On Pogba being a WC winner, nah. He didn't do anything special. He happened to be in a really good team who was very fortunate and somewhat favored during the tournament. He wasnt even France's best player or midfielder, not even in the top 10 for me in the whole tournament.

On talent, Pogba could have been the next Scholes, Gerrard, Lampard, Ballack, etc. But he's more likely to turn out to be the next Balotelli - complete waste of talent.

I just think Pogba is in the wrong team, possibly the wrong league. I don’t think the pace of the premier league necessarily suits his skill set, but you’d think he could adapt.
He’s wasting the best years of his career there.

{Ed001's Note - he also has the wrong attitude. If you aren't willing to put in the effort then you are not going to make the most of your talents and he is not willing.}

If Pogba goes on being like this he’ll end up worse than Yaya Toure.

He might yet get some silverware, because some managers will overlook his attitude and bang on him to pull the rabbit out of the hat once in awhile. But he will never be discussed as a great, be the first name on people’s lips when talking about legends.

I can already imagining him, at the end of his career, saying he never really got the right manager, club, teammates to allow him to flourish. Then you look at someone like a Kuyt, Carragher, who has maybe less than half his talent yet made the most of it through sheer hard work.
