Nearly had a baby when I saw matip was starting, fair dues though he didn't do too bad. Only complaint i have is that sturridge didn't get a run out. He strikes me as very much a confidence player, and no doubt would of been buzzing after psg.

Made a comment about Alisson catching everything the other day so when he punched it I had a wry smile on my face. It just goes to show how good his decision making is in really short time spans. His other catches have pretty much all been when there have been time to mop up after a spillage but he saw people were going to close in so punched it out of danger just in case. Others punch because they never trust themselves whereas he just knows what the correct decision is in those moments. More impressed every time I watch him. Good call ed.

Great review as usual, you call a spade a spade. Do you think Liverpool's improvement has anything to do with Buvac leaving and Pep Lijinders being more to the fore?

{Ed001's Note - I do think Buvac leaving has been a big part of it. While they worked well together there was constant friction between them, which is now gone.}

Thanks Ed, great review. I think it is just a matter of time before Keita starts clicking with everyone else and when he does, watch out. The thing about this team that is really scary, in my opinion, is that they haven't all clicked yet. That's good in one sense becuase we really don't want them peaking too soon, but once they do there's no telling what they can achieve.

Milner is playing at a really high level for consecutive games, for the life of me i really did not imagine this happening. this season he has upped his game multiple levels.

he is your usual 7/ 10 guy but really, he's becoming a very hard to replace player by the looks of it.

if there is any weakness to Robertson so far it is that, there was even a clip from one of the previous games where van dijk was screaming at robertson to stop the cross as i recall.

{Ed001's Note - to be honest all full-backs seem to allow crosses these days. I remember being told the job of a full-back was to stop them when I was a kid. These days very few do.}

And I am happy Ed001 that Shaqiri impressed everyone with his work ethic. Maybe now he knows that he isn't a bigger fish anymore and needs to work out to push into playing 11. If we have healthy Ox and settled Fabinho then Klopp has lots of interesting options and can work out on lots of Formations.

Thanks Ed. I missed the live match on Saturday so that was spot on.
There’s a player in there with Matip, I think.
And the central / free role is definitely Shaqiri’s best position, for me.

very fair review, as for kieta once he settles down and relaxes we will see the best of him, although as we saw last season with Robertson being patient with him will bring great rewards, I also include Fabinho in this as well.
