I've just seen that Sarri apprently puts on later training sessions in order to allow the players to spend mornings with their children. Seems a lovely thought, is there a reason more clubs (Liverpool included) don't implement a similar set up?

Why couldn’t they spend the afternoons with their kids? They are only training a few hours a day anyway. Their kids are probably sick of the sight of them already, wondering why dad doesn’t work more!

Personally I’d rather train in the mornings so I could get home and have a beer.

There's all sorts different manager's do.

Sarri could be sacked by Christmas, how much would you want his methods to be copied then?

Surely it's only a thing during school holidays though (obviously unless we're talking about little nippers), otherwise it makes sense to have the training sessions while the kids are at school.

Because players would get pissed the night before and attempt to sleep off the hangover. Very naive from Sarri. Lol.

I think football players get enough time with their families, why can’t they see them after training?

To be fair, if you think about it footballers have to work every weekend. They don't get to sit back and watch the game with their kids, cos they are playing in them!

Imagine not ever having a weekend, ever? That would be weird.

As an amateur footballer in France, we trained in the evenings cos we either worked or went to Uni during the day and I loved training in the evenings as it was cooler hence, better conditions. As for pros doing it, I don't get that either.

God love them, having to carry out their favourite hobby and get paid ridiculous amounts to do so for a finite time that will set them up for life.

Almost the same as the ever increasing workforce on zero hours contracts working ridiculous hours every weekend to make ends meet

My heart bleeds for the desperate situation footballers find themselves in not seeing their kids for hours on end.

They get 150k a week. I get 37k a year and i don't see my kids till 6pm. and i won't be retiring at 34. Its ridiculous that would even be mentioned.

“Imagine not ever having a weekend, ever? That would be weird. ”

My heart bleeds for them 🙄 Someone contact the unions.

They get the summer off so they do have weekends., Their whole “working life” is like a dream holiday. Some people work permanent nights doing REAL work for a pittance. Imagine never sleeping at night and never seeing daylight?

Those that are parents are likely to have young children, hence mornings working better. Though this conversation seems to have taken a turn, was never implying the players had it tough just because they had morning training sessions. Just that clubs could fairly easily move training sessions later into the day and as to wether there was a practical reason they didn't?

{Ed025's Note - dont look in this direction for sympathy, i had to work all week and then do "foreigners" of a weekend when my kids were young to put food on the table and try and build a home never mind working bank holidays and my holiday entitlement, i missed out massively on my kids growing up and thats why im so devoted to my grandchildren as its a second chance for me, im not crying "woe is me" or anything as it was what it was but when i see and hear of these footballers put on a pedestal it makes me cringe, they are paid obscene amounts of money and live a fantastic lifestyle and have a lot more family time than i was ever afforded..

Well said, Ed. These players are spoiled, pampered brats, end of story. As for "doing the foreigners", that's a new one. What does that mean? Does it mean "working under the table" as they say in the States or "travailler au black" (working under the table) in France?

{Ed025's Note - yes brover, its working outside your regular hours for a cash payment mate..
