As much as I feel sorry for what Karius must be feeling I can't possibly see any point of him staying with lfc. I remember the treatment Stevie G got every week (and still does) from idiots, but the difference being SG was respected by people who recognised how great a player he was and what happened when he slipped against Chelsea was a pure accident. Unfortunately Karius has not even convinced anyone that he is a good GK so it's very likely he will replaced and even if he did play the ridicule he would have to face woud be unbearable and probably effect the players around him.

Stevie G should not have got any criticism even if he got the ball and fired it past Mignolet himself.

However, people seem to gloss over the fact that Gerrard only slipped after he miscontrolled the pass from Sakho and panicked when trying to rectify it.

I know a lot of people have praised his performances before the final, but I always thought he had an error in him. When he first joined he made stupid mistakes and although 10 clean sheets in 19 sounds good, in those 10 games he probably only faced 10 shots. We need a keeper who inspires confidence and unfortunately after that game I don't think our players can fully believe in him anymore.

Depends upon how you define good. Most keepers will never get near Prem standard so really Karius is a good keeper, he is on a par with many EPL keepers. The bit he hasn't proved and may never prove is to be more than that, which is what a team looking to win UCL and EPL need to have in goal.

Karius is a decent keeper. He’s done well since coming back in for Migs, but it’s also clear he’s had the odd mistake in him too. The CL was just a brainless act that Benzema was alive to, and the final hit I think his head was gone.

I personally think he’ll go on to have a decent career and I’m very happy for him to remain at Liverpool if he wants to, but it’s also clear to me that if we can get an Alisson or Oblak then we should. We haven’t had a truly top class keeper for years and as someone else pointed out it really can be the difference (witness Dudek in 2005).

OP, He hs not convinced anyone he is a good keeper cos he has not had enough time to get a full run of games to actually confirm or disprove that so not sure, what that point was all about. Every GK regardless of stature has a mistake in them. The prob is that when an Allisson makes a mistake, people just say "meh, it can happen to anyone". When a young GK like Karius or even DDG (his younger days) makes one, the knives are out. Why is that? Lack of patience cos ALL keepers had to start from somewhere n made and learned from their mistakes. However since many fans of today have the attention span of an American citizen (2 mins), they forget that and want any new GK young or veteran, to be DDG right from the off and if he's not, he's crap. The fact still remains that Karius was prolly nailed on to be no. 1 for next season anyway then Sat happened and as I've said earlier, this is Klopp's decision and if he keeps Karius as no. 1 or 2 or sells him, I'm fine with it.

Friedel westerveld James i think our best in my years of watching was dudek and reina. And oh my did pepe make some Shocking mistakes. It's just to do it on THE biggest stage is so much harder to live down. Can you imagine every away game teams are going to try 40 yarders and the fans will be merciless.

SGRed, Dudek was a decent keeper, but not a top keeper at all. Good shot stopper and decent at penalties. Hence why he was replaced. I did like him, but Pepe was a huge upgrade.
