Sam Wallace made a very good point when he said that it’s not going to help pillorying Karius. Look at what happened with Robert Enke. He’s a human being who made a mistake, we all make mistakes at points in our lives. The club, the team and us as supporters have a duty to make sure it doesn’t destroy the poor lad.

{Ed002's Note - You are wasting your time, they won't get. It is now bad enough that the police are involved. Another great week coming up for the reputation of the Liverpool fans with a UEFA hearing and the police looking in to the threats being made to Karius and his family.}

If that's the case they aren't proper fans period.

Unfortunately Ed, twitter gives a voice to those whose opinions often come out of what they sit on. I feel for Karius. I hope those that have made the comments are treated within the full extent of the law, I hope that the club helps Karius get through it too. The best thing we can do as supporters is stand by him and give him some support, he’s one of us.

No true fan or normal human being makes death threats.

Please do not link this to Liverpool 'fans', because unless you can point out these faceless fools, it's only spreading false information, until they are identified (which they haven't been yet), apprehended and charged.

As things stand, this is nothing to do with Liverpool supporters, for all we know it could be a Barca, Chelsea, Spurs, Everton or Skonto Riga fan.

{Ed002's Note - I had forgotten that - it is someone else's fault.}

If the people who have said these things are prosecuted and turn out to be season ticket holders they should have the ticket revoked and banned from Anfield for life.

Ed02 is correct, Olirish. We will have to consider these people that did this as LFC fans for now until we find out they are not, minority or not and they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law if or when they are apprehended.

The people who wrote this stuff are spineless cowards who hide behind a keyboard. Whether they are LFC fans or not you cannot tarnish everyone with the same brush.

{Ed002's Note - Nobody is being tarnished with the same brush - you simply don’t get this.}

BRover,

You don't need to get involved with something you clearly were nothing to do with, so don't try to talk for me please.

If you're happy to have that idiot who threatened Karius linked to you in a guilty before innocent situation, that's your choice but not mine.

Wasn't talking to you in the first place and won't be after this comment either, you and I disagree on many things and I would rather avoid wasting time discussing this with you as I'm 100% not accepting the above, no offense, take care.

......

{Ed002's Note - A truly disgusting post - I don’t laugh of death threats to players and hope that his children get cancer, neither do the club and certainly not the police. Don’t ever post again.}

Stuff like this is not new, it’s the modern day football fan no matter what team.

Prime example - David Beckham when he got sent off for kicking out against Simeone.

The whole nation wanted him dead.

Sweet Jesus, no fan, no player is feeling lower than Karius right now.

I've made more cock ups in my life than I dare to remember, luckily not in front of millions.

I really don't think he has a future in the Prem now, due to the press and social media but I wish him well for the future.
