Apparently Man Utd are under investigation from UEFA for allowing 3 players to cross the halfway line at the same time.

United are interesting. It's a poor side with a world class keeper. Pogba is not a top class Premier league player. Mourinho gets flack for their style of play but without him they'd be outside the top 4.

Really Al? They've spent something like 300m in two years on players that he selected. If their side lacks the quality to be in the top four without his special brand of bus parking and sarcasm, isn't it primarily his fault that they look so uncompetitive in every area but the keeper?

Here's hoping he goes to Madrid because without him they will be properly exposed.

Hjikle - that was exactly his point - without Mourinho, they'd be outside the top 4.
It is obvious to anyone with eyes that Mourinho has spent poorly at Utd, but whilst he has been overtaken by a good number of coaches he is still more than a match for any other coach outside the top 6. If he hadn't joined, they'd be further away from the top 4 than at any time since the Premier League's inception.

There is no shortage of quality I am afraid big Al. Sanchez, Pogba, Martial, Rashford. However you line up they are good players. This is how Jose plays in the knockout stage of CL. It’s just the way. It won’t change no mater who he has!

Agree Harry Those players you mention in the right system and the right manager say a pep or Klopp would definitely cause most team problems.

Pogba, Mata, Sanchez, Lukaku, Martial, Rashford

Poor Jose, he must be so upset at not having enough attacking talent to make a real game of it.

Are we seriously suggesting that group isn’t talented enough to make top 4 in the hands of anyone other than Jose?

Except for Lukaku, I think Jose has spent well at ManU. The problem is that they aren't fitting into the way he likes his teams to play. Some compromises are going to have to be made for them to start working as a team. For example, Jose has shown he can change (witness Luke Shaw), will he be willing to compromise some of his beliefs about how midfielders should play to get the best out of Pogba.

Will Pogba be wiling to learn (as he he does have a lot to learn particularly about defensive responsibilities and bringing his teammates into the game) or will he insist on continuing to play the same way that made him rated one of the worlds best.
Remember he inherited a team that was aging and needed a comprehensive overhaul. He is still some way from that (eg they are weak out wide) but they are getting there.

If none of the signings fit the system he wishes to play then by that definition they are still poor signings Phil.

So Harry if that is true, are you saying that Utd have good players BUT the manager is crap cos he's the one not able to get the best of the players he has cos he either signed them or chose not to sell the ones there, right? Cos if that group is as poor as they look then the manager should be to blame, correct?
