I think to many players these days are labelled world-class. To be world-class in my eyes you have to perform at the highest level for many seasons (premiership, champions league, and international level world cups Euro's) I'm not sure there are any world-class English players at this time Harry Kane possibly if he keeps scoring and performs well at the world cup.

Harry Kane is literally the only one who comes close.

Agreed if he goes to Madrid and performs well for years then he is world class I'm just not sure if he is good enough only time will tell.

Scoring freely against below average sides doesn't make anyone world class. If he can sustain a good scoring record in WC under pressure, tgan we can start calling him wirld class. Personally, I would call a player world class if I have the urge to pay for just watching them doing their magic on a football pitch. Players like : Ronaldo (original one), Ronaldinho, Messi, Suarez, Coutinho, Gerrard, Maldini, Henry, Fowler.

the term world class gets overused these days, I blame it on the outrageous transfer fees in the game today, and also the fact these players get over hyped so much ( see ross barkley)

Whoever came up with the nickname god for Robbie Fowler is a genius.

World class is opinion. I deem it as having the ability to get into the squad of a team made up of the best players in the world, So 11 starters and 11 back ups essentially. Assuming a standard 442 formation, is Kane amongst the top 4 strikers in the world currently? Certainly a case for it. Who else is there up there? Dybala, Griezman, Aguero?

BXL RED he scored for fun against us and he does it against the big sides, I’d contend Kane is more than a flat track bully.

To be fair to Kane he's scored against every single team in the Prem bar one, I can't remember which but it's a newly promoted side I think. Which means he's scored against all the so-called top sides, and he also 6 in 5 games in the Champions League groups. He's scored against France and Germany. I'm not sure who else there is really for him to score against before he gets some credit. If he was scoring this many for us I'm sure you'd have long been calling him world class.

{Ed002's Note - You need to take all of this to the Spurs or Real Madrid page. This is the Liverpool page.}
