Why doesn't Klopp be the bigger man here and bring in some assistance on the defensive side, bring in a coach or a former player like Hyypia and get this back line sorted. I don't remember Dortmund being so disorganised what did he do there or have there that he doesn't here?

He had hummels who is not only a great CB he's a leader! And was the captain. We have Matip and Lovren neither are in the level of hummels defensively or leadership wise.

Hyypia, whilst a better shout than Carragher, had an unsuccessful stint as a manager in Germany. His Leverkusen team were very poor defensively which would suggest he would not help to resolve the issues.

If you are all desperately keen to employ an ex-player to help, then Bolo Zenden is a superb young coach. Not sure he'd want to be a dedicated defensive coach, but he would be a great assistant manager. Ed002 suggested Mike Phelan. My personal choice would be Ray Wilkins.

We could add Lance Armstrong as a fitness coach too, call it some nice clean professional additions to the backroom staff.

You've had a mare there MK with Butch Wilkins. You should have stuck with Bolo.

It's not a "defensive coach" we need, we need to change the way the team is set up and that is the remit of the manager alone.

Wilkins had a drinking problem, not an inability to coach. Klopp has a smoking problem. Should we sack him for it?

MK, your posts are usually a great read, but Wilkins, he has his own problems, and we have too many as it is, we need someone who is strong on the defensive side, I think we are quite strong up front, so no worries there mate,
Klopp makes too many basic errors for me, but who would we get to replace him .

1 goal conceded in 2 games against each of City, Spurs, Everton and Utd last season and two against the Chamoions Chelsea! Only Arsenal scored a few. does nobody else not think its more the players attitude when not facing the top teams that's the problem? most of the team were asleep for the 1st half Saturday, by the end of which most of the damage was done.
