Ed02

Question, you keep saying about Klopp using the press to unsettle players?

Any evidence of that at all?

The press seem to know who other clubs are after as well, have them clubs done the same?

Struggling to buy into what you are saying mate.

{Ed002's Note - Yes, Klopp briefed some members of the press aboiut for players in April - Sessegson, Brandt, Keita and van Dyke - with the intenstion is unsettling the players. This has all been done to death.}

Regardless of whether they or not, it is illegal and we will get the book thrown at us if we do it again.

See managers like Redknapp do that all the time. Also see Players like me Neymar do the same, Coutiniho in particular- it's swings n roundabouts.
Don't get the witch hunt for Klopp tbh.

I agree with Max here, many managers sit in a press conference and say

'If Ronaldo was available we would love to have him'

'I think Mbappe is a very talented player that would fit into any team'

Klopp is far from alone in pushing the boundaries to make moves happen. Monaco have said as much today about teams approaching Mbappe. Klopp got burnt publicly is the only difference.

I don't think Klopp told the press which players he wanted in April.

{Ed002's Note - Yes he did in a briefing to a number of folks from the press who are supportive of Liverpool.}

There's a difference between saying in a press conference that you admire a player and briefing the press in private to release a story from an "anonymous source" at the club to say you're interested in a player.

One is honest, if not necessarily appropriate, the other isn't.

When you add it to meeting players illegally and discussing contract provisions and their role in the team with them before approaching their club, it's kind of a garbage thing to do.

Does that mean I want Klopp sacked? Or burned at the stake? No it most certainly doesn't. Not even close. I just want him to stop tapping players up and trying to unsettle them via the media. I get no one's an angel in football, but that doesn't mean we should unconcerned with how our club and staff behave.

And considering we have a partial transfer ban and other complaints made about us, we're clearly doing something that isn't being done by everyone.

{Ed002's Note - Right. It was a deliberate and unprofessional attempt by Klopp to unsettle players of another club - who he then made illegal approaches to.}

Klopp 's the man! Jose the very unspecial one - he's the unsavoury type of character that really ought rub folk up the wrong way. Well he does - those with intelligence, scruples and without the devil in them!
