Hi eds,
I was just wondering how much you knew about the role of Pep Lijnders. Obviously over the summer a lot of staff were moved on, and he was promoted up the ranks and then again when Klopp came in a some of the staff left and he stayed in his role. My question really is, as First Team Development is his day to day focus on working with individual players on specific areas of their game, or is it more of a supportive role for the whole side similar to and assistant?
Also, could you possibly see him as someone who may have the desire to manage in the future?
Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - he is there to help ease the passage of players from the youth team into the first team. Yes, I do believe he is likely to want to manage in the future.}

Thanks ed, I have heard he is quite well thought of not only in the club but also outside of the club and they obviously value him as he has been kept on when others have left, so wondered if possibly could be seen as someone who could be learning from klopp, as don't think their philosophies are too different in terms of style of play etc.

{Ed001's Note - he is very highly thought of around Europe.}

Yeah that's what I had heard, I am hoping for a steady long term future at the club with one manager building something, but i know it has been mentioned that klopp may look to manage Germany or Munich in the future so if he was to leave more short term option possibly we could keep hold of lijnders to maybe take over if they feel he is ready.
