I have been playing the same drum about defence but look at how important John Terry has been for Chelsea. Fantastic defender. One of the slowest in the game but reads the game exceptionally and communicates with his defence who listen to him.
I reckon had we had a terry type defender we would have challenged more and won atleast one title. Fantastic leader and player.

You have to also give credit to the coaches he has had especially, under Mou who preaches a well defensive shape into his players, which shows that defensive shape and discipline in NOT "uncoachable", like one manager keeps saying in abid to hide his inability to make his defence much better over the three years he's been coaching some club on Merseyside.

Would we have won the league if Carragher had given it one more season?

JB, there is simply no way to answer that question with any surety whatsoever.

Is this the same defence that has kept 14 clean sheets this season

{Ed001's Note - by packing it with lots of bodies, that doesn't make it outstanding, and it is why we are struggling to score. Stats are not relevant, otherwise United's form would have suggested they were excellent this season, when for large parts they have been awful. When you gain an understanding of the game, you will not need to lump out idiotic stats like clean sheets, you would be able to analyse the matches themselves.}

Very true red ohio. It's really about finding a balance.
Johnny you know I do think we would have won it with a fit carragher. But when you had Johnson and skittles costing us games maybe not.

No, this is the same defense that has let in 177 goals in 153 games in the past 3 years in all competitions. That's an average of more than goal a game and over a three year period nothing has improved. Not only do we concede lots of goals, we also look poor defensively, have shifted around plenty of players in defensive positions, and still haven't at any time looked solid and a team capable of defending properly for the 90 minutes.

So do I Big Al.
I think his organisation would have been a great thing to have as well as his experience.

Pointless stats are used to make ridiculous points and draw irrelevant conclusions by the BR apologists instead using their own eyes and brains to analyse matches for themselves.

Pointless stats are used to make ridiculous comments slagging of Rogers instead of using their own eyes and seeing us play the most exciting football seen at Anfield for years. Or we could go back and play the football we did und

{Ed001's Note - this season have we played exciting football? I must have blinked and missed it.....}
