Guehi and Hato (Hato covers for LB also) two new centre backs for the coming season? to replace last year's second choice for centre backs Quansah (gone) and Gomez?

Or VVD, Ibou, Guehi, Gomez as centre backs, and Hato to replace both Robbo and Tsimikas means also not just vast future potential but one wage less to pay also, is what Arne has to decide for the coming season, I will be most happy to accept Arne's choice whatever he decides in the end.

Becker/ Mamardashvili, Frimpong/ Bradley, Kerkez/ A. N. Other, Gakpo/ Diaz, Salah/ Elliot, VVD, Guehi, Ibou, Gomez slowly but surely Arne is creating intense competition for every position in the first eleven, as the midfield with the addition of Wirtz will also create intense midfield competitions also, as he is obviously now trying to improve the centre forward competition also.

Centre Forward is a specialist position, and indeed requires a special player as he is the tip of the LFC Arrowhead and leads the fight towards the enemy! again I have full faith in Arne finding that special player, as his choice will be my choice also.

Guehi is a homophobe. Not someone I want at my club.

What are you hearing about Marc Guehi on Wednesday?

You know him well do you Why0why?

Maybe you should give a verified source before putting statements like that out.

Whyohwhy - difference between a Christian and homophobe. I am sure some of out other Christian players would also refuse to wear the armband. Should we get rid of them too?

Forcing your views on others is the exact opposite of inclusion and also works for people forcing people to support causes and wear things they aren’t comfortable with.

7.) 28 Jun 2025
28 Jun 2025 22:55:06
WhyOWhy - no, he just has his beliefs, which he’s entitled to - there’s a difference! He didn’t feel he should be pressured into wearing a symbol, and that should be his choice. Not sure we should be focusing on players political/ religious beliefs.

29 Jun 2025 00:29:50
Why0Why - How did you come to that conclusion? He is a Christian and did not feel comfortable being forced into wearing an armband due to his beliefs. Not sure how that makes him a homophobe.

10.) 29 Jun 2025
29 Jun 2025 01:20:04
For those that watch him, what are Guehi's strengths?

11.) 29 Jun 2025
29 Jun 2025 03:54:29
If he (and any person) are such devout Christians then maybe they should read the Bible in a bit more detail and apply the same zeal they reserve for homosexuality to other issues it focuses on? It seems to me like a lot of these players who make that argument about their ‘beliefs’ are very selective about the contexts in which they apply it, and very specific about which issues they care about. It’s almost as if they choose to make an issue over campaigns regarding homophobia because they are do not like gay people. Funny how you never hear that kick up a fuss about the obscene wealth they earn, despite the Bible containing a substantially more scripture about the evils of wealth accumulation. Respect their beliefs? Not when their beliefs are moronic and cherry-picked.

It’s not a forum for cretins either but you contribute everyday WDW. It was brought up regarding Guehi so discussion went there - don’t like it? You can keep scrolling.

In my opinion, Marc Guehi and cristhian Mosquera. I would have picked Braithwaite but heard Everton are requesting for £70 million for him. The amount is high for a back up.

Seano do you know how much charity work they do or if they donate a percentage of their salary? If not you are just making silly statements. Not like it’s their fault they are being paid so much. Hardly robbing people for their money.

WDW4, football is my religion.

Yes, when your magic books demand people are stoned to death (the same book that advocates slavery) because of how they are born and in 2025 you allow the same magic book to dictate your belief and behaviours…. then you’re a homophobe.

Thats not complicated. If the magic book demands you do awful things and you do them, that’s on you.

Mo and others are able to be reasonable in 2025. Don’t they have magic books as well?

18.) 29 Jun 2025
29 Jun 2025 09:25:05
Seano - maybe you should read about his “zeal” for homosexuality before you comment on it.

Do you know how our other LFC players - who are overt with their religious practice - feel about homosexuals? Do you know how their religions feel about homosexuality? Do you criticise them as “moronic and cherry picked”?

Maybe wind your neck in before criticising people because they happen to be part of a religion.
Being part of a religion is protected by law in the UK.

Guehi - “Homosexuals can't swim. they attract enemy radar. They attract sharks. They insist on being placed at the Captain's Table. They. get up late, they nudge people whilst they're shooting. They muck about. Imagine the fear of knowing you have a gay man on board a boat - when you retire at night, you think to yourself: "God. Will I wake up and find everybody dead? ". You can't run a ship like that. “.

We should delete this thread because it’s nothing to do with football and it’s divisive.

These people do not know Guehi’s beliefs about homosexuality or Salah’s beliefs on homosexuality or any players belief on ANYTHING.

Safe to say we should not be imposing interpretation of their actions on them.

Don’t expect your footballers to be ‘saints’ they will all have different views to you.

If Guehi or Salah come out and says or does something homophobic then that’s on them, but as far as I can tell they haven’t.

21.) 29 Jun 2025
29 Jun 2025 11:10:52
Jurgen Klopp is a devout Catholic who knows elements of the Bible aren’t fit for 2025.
Guehi happily ignores the Bible dictating people should be stoned for wearing more than two types of cloth, right? But he’s happy to cherry pick the part about homosexuality. That’s a choice - ergo, he’s a homophobe.

It’s not a complex statement.

22.) 29 Jun 2025
29 Jun 2025 11:30:10
Why0why are you always pushing for confrontation? Guehi wore the band but wrote 'I love jesus' on it and from his own words we're for "truth and love and inclusivity, "
Stoned for two types of cloth isn't accurate either.
I'm with Ron on this 100%.

29 Jun 2025 12:13:43
Stop this! It's become way off track. It's makes an enjoyable forum boring and verging on nasty. WOWhy Who made you a morality Ed? I'm sure if you dig into every LFC players mind you can find something to upset you!

We may only have enough for a 5 a side comp.

24.) 29 Jun 2025
29 Jun 2025 12:40:17
Being a Liverpool fan taught me good morals. Coming from a port city that welcomes everyone taught me morals.

When someone believes that people will be tortured eternally for how they were born, I’m not a fan. It’s telling for so many of you that’s not an issue.

Not long ago that wouldn’t have been a weird concept.

25.) 29 Jun 2025
29 Jun 2025 12:55:47
I do not know Guehi’s own personal actions or stance Ron, but I’ve seen enough from players of various different religions to know that they cherry pick which parts of the scripture they really want to follow. It’s hypocritical and honestly I’m sick of people hiding behind religion as a defence for a rubbishty world view. I don’t care what religion it is, any intolerance of somebody who doesn’t fit into your world view is ridiculous and, whilst people have a right privately to believe whatever they want, they should be rightfully condemned when they make their ignorance public knowledge.

I hope we don’t sign Guehi because I don’t think he is good enough. I hope all players keep their religious views and opinions to themselves. If football is not the place to raise issues surrounding homophobia in the game, then it certainly isn’t the place to platform religious preferences or views.

26.) 29 Jun 2025
29 Jun 2025 13:30:24
If a player was about to sign that was absolutely racist…I’d not like it and I’d object.
I’d hope others would as well.

Some of you have taken my criticism of a person you don’t know…. personally. Why? I’m criticising Marc Guehi…I don’t want us to sign him.

He refused to wear an armband that basically said “we accept homosexuals” instead he wore an armband about the main character from a book that says homosexuals should be eternally tortured. That wasn’t a coincidence.

If I refused to wear an anti-Nazi armband and instead had an armband that supported a short moustachioed brown haired Austrian, who was a failed artist and rose to political prominence in 1930’s Germany…you could correctly accuse me of having pro-Nazi leanings.

Football is for everyone. Marc doesn’t agree.

WoW is causing more of a stink than a bomb in one of those holes that people rubbish into at Glastonbury. And WDW is so clearly trying to step into the shoes of the late, lamented Ed002 as moral arbiter of the group. Give up - nobody gives a rat’s teste about your opinion, unlike that of 002.

It isn't just the bible that calls for people to be stoned to death. You conveniently left out the other books.

You do realise that citing the fact that other religious texts are awful as well proves my point.
