Osmehin is the one Liverpool want. In the works.

What about wages and Saudi, Robbo? Seems that only Saudi can pay the wages he appears to want.

Ed001 - if you are about mate, what are your thoughts on Osimhen? I've only seen highlights and that's not the best way to judge a player.
Is he a good fit for the PL?
Would he fit in to our system?
Does he work hard enough without the ball?
Has he still got it after stepping down for a season?

I’m sure we can’t and won’t compete with Saudi in terms of salary but Osimhen has said many times that he wants the premier league and wants to play at the highest level, guess if we are in for him we will see what is more important to the player! My bet is if Liverpool go for Osimhen then he will join but I’m not sure we are in fact in for him.

No way - he is old and greedy! No need to do bad business.

{Ed001's Note - I am not convinced he is consistent enough, though he is big and strong, particularly in the air, which would be extremely useful in English footie. The problem is his first touch, sometimes it can be sublime, but it can often be poor and that is a worry in a league where players will close down quicker than they do in Italy or Turkey. He won't get the time to recover a poor touch as often.}

I get the “old” bit as he’s over 25 (just) but why would you say he’s greedy, Red Apple?

Benteke v2.0

Overrated.

Because people keep putting stuff on here that he wants £400k a week after tax, don’t they @Vik? A number which has no evidence of proof being put forward as fact.

25- about to enter into his prime years.

AND whatever anyone says, selling Nunez will cover the fee, and selling Jota and Fede too means we easily cover his wages.

He's off to Saudi £££.

You can’t say he’s too old, 24-26 is probably the perfect age for getting a player in his prime. Agree with Ed about his first touch, it’s as bad as Nunez, he’s not the most composed if he’s got time to think either, then there is his wage demands…. I think he’s off to Saudi,

Maybe a year away from the top leagues has made him reevaluate a bit? Might have thought someone would pay it, but realised he might have to ‘sacrifice’ a little to play at the top.

Osimhen is a hard worker. He hustles to win ball back from opponent. He is a real pain in the ass for defenders. He earns £288k currently. The big wage is the major factor. I doubt if LFC would sign him and wirtz on the same transfer window.

Ed001, saw yuor comments on Osimhen.
I think you are very spot on, on what is required to be a success.

Would like to ask, apart from Ishak, who else would you fancy.
I have seen (albeit all just highlights) of Sesko, and Ekitike, I am not really impressed.

{Ed001's Note - Lautaro Martinez would be great.}

speaking of touch, I was watching a video of Drogba and oh boy that guy had a great first touch. The way he'd take a long ball especially under pressure, wow!

With Osimhen, I'd be all over this signing. the guy is a goal scorer.

Drogba didn’t actually score many.

Drogba didn't do badly, Marty; especially in a Mourinho side.
I'm sure he was leading goalscorer one season.

{Ed078's Note - that goal where he controlled it on his chest and turned and smashed it past Reina was a sight to behold.

Osimhen is my country man and we adore him here in NIGERIA. Ed01 is right, quite inconsistent with his first touch but when its on, it's exciting to watch him. His heading ability and physical presence in the box is one area of his strength but with him, we will not lose the work rate of possessed Nunez as he can graft, if needed. He's easily knows where the back of the net is ultimately. Knowing where he's from, he's also a very grateful guy for what football have given to him and have been pretty helpful to locals here in Nigeria. I don't want this transfer cos I won't be able to stand the pelters he will get on here, should things not work as expected.

What we love about him is that he's a winner to the core and a miserable sod, when he loses a match. He does have a tendency to lose his temper but not violent alas Cunha (towards the end of last season) or early days Nunez but he could lose it, if he feels undermined or racially abused (it's common with guys born and bred in LAGOS) unlike Jay Jay Okocha, who would rather dribble - revenge the opposition. I however think that with Wirtz, Osimhen can make Isaks impact for us. Honestly, I'm torn on this one. If true, I would love it but if not, I won't begrudge as it will be a relief.
