Reports in on various sites were saying, Liverpool were willing to sell Nunez. If he was sold, who would you like to see as a replacement?
I would like to see Isak in a red shirt.
Jota would be my first choice as he's very intelligent player and get crucial goals for us but his injury record isn't great.

Isak is a good shout because he's obviously in form and doing a good job. But, I can't but help he's a match of the day fever signing. Can he continue this form over a long period? Nuñez is the sacrificial lamb to many supporters, understandable in a way, but what else does he bring? Is he worth keeping for his work rate? Personally if it was a choice between nuñez and jota, I'd sacrifice Jota. And that's only because of his injury record. Nuñez is always ready. It's a tough one.

Cunha and Isak for me. Cunha was a constant threat to us yesterday and I can see why so many rates him highly. Isak's numbers just speaks for itself.

Jean-Philippe Mateta?

Mika Biereth. Jot that name down for future reference.

Jota is the better striker but Nunez can bring the chaos and change a game.

I’d go for Isak and Nunez personally and sell Jota, as Gakpo can also play a similar role to Jota if that’s what’s required.

Cunha is an amazing player, he can do everything a slot number 9 needs, he looks ready made for us.

Jonathan Davi, Sesko and maybe Cunha.

A traffic cone would have brought more chaos than Nunez yesterday. A shocking performance, marcus Rashford at his laziest levels.

What’s Isak injury record like? Ed1 said Newcastle have to nurse him through games? Surely if it is then people will moan that we’ve bought another sick note.

Fatwallet, JK23 posted an analysis of Isak's injury record. He hasn't missed much game time at all. Look it up, mate.

The work rate should be a bare minimum for me for any player in position at the club. It’s not a good enough reason to keep any player. He’s simply not good or intelligent enough to be our main striker. I wouldn’t say Isak is MOM fever either he’s been consistently good for more than a season in the prem.

Alfhough I wouldn't complain at all if we signed isak, the hamstring injuries worry me. I'm not a doctor but from what I've seen with other players its those injuries that seem to crop up more and more as a player gets older.

Cunha would be my pick as I think he suits how we play better and that's not just from his game against us or recent form he was great even when he wasn't scoring loads you could just see he had that something special. Cunhas also had a previous hamstring injury a few years ago but from what I can see he's missed games through injury.

I wouldn't complain at all if we signed either though, both look like great players.

Do we need to replace Nunez?
He's not starting or scoring and he doesn't do much when he comes on as sub.
Sell him, by all means, but we need someone that is going to go in the first eleven or at least challenge it strongly.
I'd always replace two or three fringe players with one starter.
You will always need players to fill the squad but they should either be youngsters on the up or players that can be relied upon.
That's not Nunez, for me.

For the people saying Isak if you really look at it it's only been one season he's been great.
He's had his injuries as well. Has played well this season in batches of games.
The amount Newcastle would want for him is the concern. Is this a one season wonder? Might be better to see how he finishes this season and next to access if he's truly worth the fee.

Provided commentary were correct Cunha has a £63 million clause (just hope is right type of clause as those confuse me) and rumours of Saudi wanting Nunez - that would be my pick. Potentially Jonathan David on a free if jota could be moved on (love him but injuries are a bit too much) .

Then loan Danns so can get game time and tbh I’d probably move chiesa on as well.

17 Feb 2025 12:51:48
I’d swerve isak. And if we’ll sell both jota and Darwin we will only buy 1 replacement and probably promote danns. Can’t see us buying a midfielder a defender and couple of strikers.

Cunha and Kulusevski.

20.) 17 Feb 2025

Jota out for Cunha and Darwin out for Isak and the front line looks set for a few years.

For the bloke who said Matetta, I’m presuming you’re keen to see the second coming of Benteke.

MOTD fever with Isak? The guy has been absolutely outstanding all year. Ed has said newcastle plan to build around him and he won't be sold.

If that's the case I think Cunha would be a good addition. Pedro of Brighton wouldn't be a bad option as well.

23.) 17 Feb 2025
17 Feb 2025 18:24:21
Nunez hasn’t been bringing the chaos and changing games for months.

24.) 17 Feb 2025
17 Feb 2025 18:43:08
Cunha should be a priority.
Isak would be a great signing too.
Cunha offers more as a player for me. Isak is a great finisher.

Cunha apparently has a release of £60-65m
Isak could be available for £83m if NUFC don’t qualify for Europe.

18 Feb 2025 06:32:06
Fat Wallet chers for that mate.

Think he’s missed 8 league games in the last 2 seasons through injuries and I’d imagine If we looked at most of our players injuries back to 2021 then they would be similar.

Bulk I’m not sure 17 league goals this season (so far) 21 goals last season and 10 the season before constitute to motd fever.

Especially when in that same time frame we are claiming Nunez has world class potential and apparently causes chaos despite scoring exactly half that amount.

Yes the argument will be Isak plays more but isn’t also the argument not to go for Isak because he’s always injured.
