Seems as though Firmino is in talks with Juventus.

He’ll not be leaving, we are in contract talks and he’s said he doesn’t want to leave, so just a matter of time before an extension is agreed.

2.) 24 Jul 2022

His agent is exploring options, Juventus being the top one, ( apparently)

Eds are you able to give an update on this.

{Ed002's Note - With what.}

According to the newspapers.

Are the club in negotiations with Bobby on a new contract? I’ve not seen anything reported so if it has I’ve missed it.

Some fans have him as first choice forward and others as 4th or 5th so will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Personally I’d love to see him stay this season as he gives us squad depth and I thought he was very good coming off the bench against tired legs.

JK with Nunez I doubt any fan believes Bobby is number one anymore. Even last season he was behind Mane.

Ed has already Said he expects Bobby to sign a new contract lads. He ain't going anywhere.

8.) 24 Jul 2022
24 Jul 2022 19:18:04
But if he goes we can sign a midfielder!

9.) 24 Jul 2022
24 Jul 2022 19:22:13
It’s whether the contract put forward is suitable to the player and also if he were to leave who would replace him.

{Ed002's Note - There is a year to sort that out.}

10.) 24 Jul 2022

If it meant being able to get someone like Sesko who we were linked with in i'd let Bobby go.

11.) 24 Jul 2022
24 Jul 2022 19:37:44
Is it true Juve have made a formal offer to the club? if so Bobby must at least have some interest in the move.

12.) 24 Jul 2022
24 Jul 2022 20:15:33
@Jadon, Why? Reportedly Juventus have made an offer. Nobody has reported that Firmino might be interested in the offer or that he or his agent have spoken to or are negotiating personal terms.

13.) 24 Jul 2022
24 Jul 2022 20:50:44
You honestly think Juve would go to the bother of making a formal offer to the club without knowing if Bobby was interested in the move or not?

14.) 24 Jul 2022
24 Jul 2022 21:48:53
Bobby will be starting ahead of Darwin IMO, at least for now. Darwin is going to need some time to get used to the rough and tumble of the Prem. He seems like a sensitive chap too, so he will not be rushed .

{Ed0666's Note - what does him being sensitive have to do with him starting or not?

15.) 24 Jul 2022
24 Jul 2022 23:01:38
Suppose, have to prepare him for the likes of Grealish and Harry Winks! At least he doesn't have to face joe allen at stoke on a cold wednesday night.

16.) 24 Jul 2022
24 Jul 2022 23:33:30
Spaceman. Bobby wasn’t even first choice last season. You think he will be now, over someone Klopp clearly bought in to be a first teamer?

17.) 24 Jul 2022
24 Jul 2022 23:55:11
There is no way Darwin doesn’t start, not with that price tag, even then jota would start over Bobby surely.

18.) 25 Jul 2022

@Jadon Klopp warned everybody yesterday that people had to be patient with Nunez, that followed Klopp’s comments after Nunez’s first. 45 minutes that after our ne signings first 2 or. 3 sprints his ‘lungs were ready to explode’. Sounds a bit like Nunez has a way to go before he reaches the levels required to be a regular starter playing the way we do. I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if our front 3 for Fulham is Luis, Bobby and Mo.

With respect to Juventus contacting Bobby or not I have to admit that I have no idea if they have or not and I certainly wouldn’t know what was said if they did.

Given we have 9 sensible options for the midfield, with Diogo injured and if Bobby goes we will have Luis, Darwin and Mo as our remaining 3 sensible choices for the Fulham match. I wouldn’t fall over with shock if we bought a forward if Bobby does actually go. It’d make a nice change to swap striker for midfielder.

25 Jul 2022 07:44:24
Apparently Darwin was reading the on line negativity after his 2 game 'drought' -hence if he were to play and not score and get a bit roughed up or not be able to keep up the pace, he could be affected psychologically .

A slower league like that of Italy could be a good move for Bobby, although i'd be sad to see him leave.

20.) 25 Jul 2022
25 Jul 2022 08:48:57
We're playing Fulham, that's a great chance to get Nunez off to a scoring start. If he plays Bobby instead I'd be gobsmacked.

21.) 25 Jul 2022
25 Jul 2022 09:25:55
WDW Klopp is simply protecting a new player with a big price tag from the media. Pep did same with Haaland yesterday.

22.) 25 Jul 2022
25 Jul 2022 13:02:25
@1jj, he protected Robbo for about. 6 months. There’s no doubt Nunez has been bought to be a starter, but he won’t be an automatic starter until Klopp thinks he’s ready and I don’t think he does yet.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Bobby play the first hour then Darwin come on if we are a couple of goals up that will take the pressure off him.

On a different, though related, note - I am surprised that the rumours about Bobby going to Italy are gaining momentum on social media. We haven’t got rid of any of last season’s first team squad midfielders and have added Carvalho but we have got rid of Taki, Big Div and Sadio up front, with just Darwin coming in. If Bobby goes that’s four out and only 1 in. Ironically, given the clamour for a midfielder I really do think we will be short of a player or two up front if Bobby goes. We will have Mo and Luis who are regarded as top notch, Diogo who attracts lively debate and Darwin who is an unknown quantity in the PL and playing 60:games a season. One or two injuries and we are looking light, in terms of top quality, proven PL starters.

25 Jul 2022 14:31:00
Nunez to start over bobby for me. Bobby brings nothing now.

24.) 25 Jul 2022
25 Jul 2022 14:57:58
I'd be very uncomfortable leaving bobby go. He would have to be replaced. Bobby knows the club and players/ coach know him. To bring another replacement in now is too much upheavel in the forward positions. We have already sold 3. 4 is too much.

I know a new player would be exciting but the reality is we'll likely be far better with bobby than without. New player would take time. And I've said this before, for a new forward joining Liverpool would be a risk. How much game time will he get. This would hamper the quality we can bring in.

But I trust Klopp and team fully. This is just my thought but if they decide to sell, fine by me. Would be hoping for gapko if sold but I don't see him taking that risk.

25.) 25 Jul 2022
25 Jul 2022 15:53:19
Agreed Davey. One counter to this is the predictability of the way a team plays can be greatly altered by a new component. and sometimes it does feel as though some can predict us so well that they can stifle us from being our best.
I trust in Jurgen, so whatever happens, im good with.

26.) 25 Jul 2022
25 Jul 2022 22:43:58
Spaceman. Appreciate your points. Bobby is probably the most unpredictable player we have. I'm not sure his role is the concerning factor.
