Fairly broad question, but seeing some of the transfer fees suggested for Nunez surprise me - has our financial position improved a lot since last year?

There is £72m available from the secured loan taken out in the C.V. (+/ - any changes since the accounts filed) that could be used to fund purchases in addition to any player sales.

It’s unlikely that FSG would sanction the long term use of the money for player purchases, but it’s there whilst other revenue comes in. Revenue is looking like it will be a record breaking year and FSG will be looking to reduce net debt as a result.

I would estimate that we could fund around £40ish million on top of player sales (assuming we get mid to high 30’s for mane and another £30-40m elsewhere) and still reduce net debt by up to £50m.

That doesn’t leave much room for a midfielder though, so would be amazed if it was another marquee signing, unless the debt position changed.

With spaceman here there has to be money available from somewhere as JK wouldn't have agreed to stay for the rebuild so whether it comes from the owners or somewhere else, there will be funds available this summer.

I think they might make an exception for Bellingham who appears a potentially transcendent player, and English. Could see them put forward next year's chest now for such an opportunity.
