Hi Ed002,

Ornstein from The Athletic has reported today that Liverpool, along with MUFC are interested in signing Aurelian Tchouameni in the Summer.

Any of that true? I recall that the player was first choice for Chelsea last summer however there was never any real mention of Liverpool being interested.

If there is:
1) How highly is the player rated?
2) What sort of figure would Monaco be looking for?

Many thanks!

{Ed002's Note - Aurelien Tchouameni (DM/CM) Juventus and Chelsea have all declared an interest in the player and have both held discussions with Monaco. Manchester United could look to him as a Paul Pogba replacement. Borussia Dortmund are interested in upgrading Axel Witsel and have looked at him as have others, such as Liverpool and Manchester City, without declaring an interest. Real Madrid opted for Camavinga and will concentrate on other priorities but cannot be discounted. Monaco have told clubs that they are not looking to sell. Juve may make an offer in January and would look to including a player in any deal - that could result in an offer from Chelsea and just possibly Real Madrid - who would look to include a player in any deal. Juve's issue is money which may see them switch their attention to Witsel or Zakaria if Monaco won't accept a player exchange. Chelsea will likely push for a deal.

They will look for perhaps €60M. Unless Fabinho is leaving Liverpool don't need him.}

I still think we will get Bissouma in the summer to replace Milner and Naby. And Fabio Carvalho to replace Ox.

I think you’ll be very disappointed Indian. We don’t have the money for Bissouma.

I think we should sell Phillips, Origi, N. Williams and Karius this month and try for Bowen. West Ham might even be open to a deal involving Origi or Phillips plus cash. Karius is the only 1 i want to sell but the other 3 want more first team football apparently so we shouldn't block them from progressing their careers. Koumetio, Gordon, Bradley and Pitaluga can replace them all immediately anyway.

I'd sell Keita and Mane in the summer too and use the money we get for both to sign a long term successor to Henderson. Bissouma or Tchouameni would be fine. Bellingham or Rice if finances permitted which i doubt they do.

Henderson can replace Milner as the elder statesman but Mane should be sold whilst he holds some value. I'm sure teams like PSG, Bayern, Juve or Barcelona would be interested and i'm sure a fresh start would reinvigorate him and allow him to end his career in style.

Bowen is a huge favourite at the hammers he is going nowhere in Jan.

Therein lies the problem with buying in January, 1jj.

Unless we want Dembele or Sanches it's unlikely we'll sign anyone.

Good points MK; hypothetically speaking, I'd move Jota, Origi and Nat on to fund a move for Dias. I'm aware this is not plausible mind!

What are you on Gandalf? Jota is the 1st piece of the future front line. or is the fountain of youth in your garden and you are inviting Salah and Mane around?

Sell Jota? 😂 25 years old and 2nd top scorer in the league (only because Salah is the best player in the world) .

What more do you want from the poor bloke?

😂😂 I stand by it. I don't think Jota has enough versatility nor link up play. He's clearly very instinctive and I think that's his strength and weakness. For me he's a rol of the dice. I know it's controversial 😂.

Jota can play left wing, right wing, lone striker, striker in a 2, and attacking midfield.

He's the personification of versatility.

His link up play isn't at the same level as peak Firmino, but it's hardly a glaring weakness.

Fair play though, it is your opinion and you're entitled to it no matter how against the grain it is!

I think Jota outside the box is horrible, different player inside the box tho.

Who said sell karius? Been trying to do that for 3 or 4 years. No takers, and I don't blame them.
