Danny Ings moved to Aston Villa anyone know the fee? And whether we had a sell on clause?

Sure we did.

20% apparently mate. According to Twitter the fee was £30m. Whether that bit is true or not is anybodies guess.

20% of the difference. So £2mil.

Jesus monkeymad I hope your not an accountant cause you'd go broke. 20% of £30 is £2, well done my son.

Deisered, most sell on clauses are a percentage of the "profit" made on a player. Hence why Monkey said "the difference". Assuming Saints paid £20m and Villa paid £30m, that is a £10m difference. What's 20% of £10m mate? 😉

To be honest i don't know the first thing about finances in football and you are probably both wrong, but Monkey's maths is correct even though his figures are probably wrong!

Deisered, funnily enough mate I actually am an accountant! I work for the company who audit Liverpool's accounts.

Common misconception is you need to be good at maths to be an accountant, truthfully it helps!

Villa have made some great signings with beundia, Bailey and now ings they will be challenging top four I think. Funnily enough I don’t think Grelish makes man city any stronger. Man U will challenge this year although I think the team to beat will be Chelsea. Reason being after we won the champions league we had belief to go on and win the premier league.

{Ed025's Note - especially if they get either lukaku or haaland ace..

That would be frightening mate hope your keeping well.

Lukaku was a donkey in the prem- failure at Chelsea, ManU and not sure he controlled the ball once at Everton - still better than Richarilson hey Ed25?

{Ed025's Note - hes an excellent player 1jj, scores lots of goals wherever he goes mate....better than richarlison, haaland and most other centre forwards..

10.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 23:04:36
Lukaku is a one trick pony, play the ball in front of him, he will bully his way onto it, smash his laces through it and hope for the best. He is not a modern day footballer, failed 3 times at Premiership level and is half decent at best in a poor league.

11.) 04 Aug 2021
04 Aug 2021 23:13:45
Lukaku has over 100 prem goals, in not much more than 1 in 2 - mostly for mid table or lower teams. Hardly call that failing.

{Ed0666's Note - Chelsea and United fans would be delighted to hear you call them mid table or lower teams 😂

He also plays in serie A which is no way as physical or as fast as the premier league, so naturally he will get more time on the ball. Whereas in epl, he was ok but nothing special.

Lukaku has been superb for Inter.

Lukaku is a fine player but we know his limitations. His Premier League career was far from a failure, but he was a more effective player for the lesser clubs he played for as opposed to Man Utd or Chelsea. Though he is a phenomenal athlete, his technical ability is inconsistent and often deserts him at the most inopportune moments. Chelsea can have him as far as I’m concerned.
Haaland is a different matter altogether - he will be the sort of nightmare opposing player that sticks around for over a decade and scores nearly 300 goals.

Really?!?! Lukaku is an awesome powerful forward. Scored so many goals in every team, league, level. I’d have him in my team every game day without question.

113 goals and 42 assists in 252 PL games is a fail?

hate to say it guys, but some of you lot are miserable. I get there is the free speech, take off the rose-tinted view of the world and blah blah blah but have have ya ever taken pause to reflect on life and see the positives of life, the potential in someone and what they could bring?

Romelu is fast, strong, decent control, brings his team mates into the game and whether you smash the ball, or it comes off your armpit, he puts the ball in the damn net. in multiple leagues, national and international level.

He is 28, at his prime and would be a fantastic addition to any squad in the PL. well maybe not ours due to the way we play, but if we played a traditional #9 you can see a scenario where he leads the attack and you have mane and salah buzzing around him.

anyways, all power to him. hate to see him do well given his return of goals so far in a career of failure.

Lukaku is one of the best in his position atm, Chelsea forking out over £100mil for his services should be a good indicator of how highly rated he actually is.

Lukaku scores goals. But he misses too many chances. Looks like he can’t kick a ball straight at times, but he is still very good player. He’s not an elite player in my opinion. Nowhere near.

How frustrating it must be for players around him when he just hands the balls back making a mess of a simple pass. Or shinning a simple ball into him.

{Ed025's Note - he does the hardest thing in football very well mag...putting the ball in the net, yes he can look a bit clumsy at times but his record speaks for itself mate and for me gets in most of the top sides team..

19.) 05 Aug 2021
05 Aug 2021 14:21:40
how did he fail at three clubs? Do you think United paid £90m for a failure, or someone who proved that he can score goals?
He also left Chelsea when he was 20 so that he could play first team football - he didn't fail. He has 64 international goals at 28 years old, which is better than Ronaldo, Messi or Neymar.

Some of the nonsense I read in here is astounding. Anything to belittle Everton and Man Utd.

{Ed025's Note - your spot on leroy, hes top quality mate and one of the best in world football, its sad that people with an agenda cant just give the guy the respect he deserves, his record proves he deserves that..
