Ed2 are Madrid trying to sign Salah?

{Ed002's Note - Mo Salah (RW/F) Liverpool could cash in to fund transfers but there is no clear interest at this time after he and his agent pricing him out of a move with previous attempts to leave. His "representative" has again been doing the rounds this time also asking Bayern Munich, PSG and surprisingly Chelsea if they are interested. I suspect that Barcelona and Real Madrid may also have been approached again. Liverpool will likely look to a new contract but don't be surprised of an offer from PSG but there is nothing right now. Real Madrid have other targets.

Salah will go anywhere that flashes him a large wedge.

16 Jul 2021 20:15:22
Unless it meant getting Mbappe or Haaland for their youth and goals, the sale of Salah is just madness. It would take Liverpool from Prem/ ULC contenders, to 4th - 6th.
But we did sell Suarez and replace him with Lambert so it can happen at our club 😂.

3.) 16 Jul 2021
16 Jul 2021 20:15:08
Is money motivating his desire to leave Ed002.

{Ed002's Note - At his age he has lost the high-money and poster boy opportunity.}

4.) 16 Jul 2021
16 Jul 2021 20:29:33
Considering his age Salah could be the most expensive player on the market today.

5.) 16 Jul 2021
16 Jul 2021 20:40:56
Selling Salah would end any chance of challenging next season. There’s no chance that Mbappe or Haaland would come because of the transfer fee, wages and agents fees involved. I can’t think of one player that we can realistically bring in to replace him.

16 Jul 2021 23:55:18
I remember when we signed a winger from Roma who'd only scored about 15 goals the previous season. "Chelsea reject" i think they called him at the time.

Then he smashed in 44 goals in his debut season and broke the Premier League 38 game record which nobody thought could be broken. Not bad eh?

If Salah leaves then i will be truly gutted. He's the ome of the top 5 players to play for Liverpool in my lifetime and he is criminally under rated. But the same people who pulled him out of nowhere, will pull another gem out the back pocket if they're called upon.

7.) 17 Jul 2021
16 Jul 2021 23:57:40
Lucky we don't have to do the thinking. We didn't think of bringing in Salah, Bobby, or mane either did we. Every player is replaceable, and will eventually have to be replaced.

8.) 17 Jul 2021
17 Jul 2021 00:16:33
Salah will eventually leave, like all players have to. I guess we have to think what the best outcome is.

Bet anyone anything, if he's still here in 2 seasons when "his legs have gone" or whatever injuries catch him up, plenty will be saying we should have sold him when we could have got decent money "and invested in" whoever. Mbappe, Haarland, etc.

{Ed0666's Note - come on mate we’re never gonna get Mbappe or Haaland those are pipe dreams! We mayne on the top table when it’s comes to playing football but we do t eat at the top table when it comes to transfers. At best we done at the table that’s next. This is not a slight on the owners just reality as I’m good with where we done. It’s made us who we are today.

9.) 17 Jul 2021
17 Jul 2021 04:19:17
The people running the club managed to buy Salah and Mane for reasonable fees didn’t they - what’s to stop them doing the same again. Oh yes hey also managed to win the Champions League and EPL too .

The people falling over themselves to say we don’t want x, y or z bear quite a resemblance to those who didn’t want Salah, Mane, Wijnaldum, Robinson, Henderson etc, etc, when they signed.

Whilst it’s a fans forum and we all have an opinion and some of us gave experience of playing Premier League Manager etc., perhaps we could put a bit of trust in the people being paid to run the club?

10.) 17 Jul 2021
17 Jul 2021 07:22:29
The people running the club also bought Balotelli, Lambert, Borini, Markovic and Carroll. Let’s not sit here and pretend that replacing Salah is going to be easy or that we’ll even do it adequately, specifically when you look at the names bandied about, it should terrify you, it’s been said on countless occasions that they’d seriously consider bringing in Traore or Sarr (neither of whom are fit to lace his boots) as a replacement for Salah, there’s absolutely no way that the owners will spend on a top class forward, or even from the tier below that. They’ll try and do it on the cheap.

{Ed001's Note - those are Klopp's choices. The owners don't do recruitment.}

11.) 17 Jul 2021
17 Jul 2021 08:27:07
We do not rely on one player anymore as the club is run well in that respect. Gone are the days of one man teams w Luis or Stevie Me.
We can sell anyone and make a new star player, which is where the real skill lies, so if Mo wants to leave to get paid more, that's his prerogative. People who think players should be loyal need to get a grip, as most of those same people would gladly goto a new job that paid them double if it helped them and their families situation.
Id be happy to see all of the front 3 leave and to rebuild with mid level players, its much more fun than playing the city way.
The very fact that we can be this confident and not worry about transfers anymore is an absolute gift.

12.) 17 Jul 2021
17 Jul 2021 08:49:35
VVVV literally all those players you mentioned were under the previous management regime. It’s a tad snobbish to say that Traore and Sarr aren’t fit to lace anyone’s boots. When we were signing players from Newcastle, Southampton, Hull etc they weren’t exactly world class players and I’m sure people reacted similarly and were proven wrong. This isn’t FIFA or Football Manager mate.

13.) 17 Jul 2021
17 Jul 2021 09:06:32
Selling Salah would make us considerably weaker, he’s our best forward player.

14.) 17 Jul 2021
17 Jul 2021 11:31:27
Sarr and Traore are both very good footballers, whoever Klopp brings in i trust.

15.) 17 Jul 2021
17 Jul 2021 12:09:25
All the players listed were signed under FSG’s ownership.

It’s not snobbish at all. Neither of Traore or Sarr are remotely capable of replacing Salah’s contribution. That’s just a matter of truth.

16.) 17 Jul 2021
17 Jul 2021 13:17:18
More often than not, players are improved by working with Klopp (and the coaching staff) so players that we're linked with aren't necessarily the finished article. Players who have as yet unrealised potential are ideal for us.

17.) 17 Jul 2021
17 Jul 2021 14:14:38
It really bothers me that his reps have reached out to Chelsea. I don't understand why they would do that other than they believe they can milk them for a new big contract.

18.) 17 Jul 2021
17 Jul 2021 08:41:53
Hey Ed666 - I agree and for me it makes it all the sweeter winning trophies doing it that way. Shows off Klopp and teams amazing talents when it comes to coaching and improving players.

{Ed0666's Note - agreed mate

19.) 17 Jul 2021
17 Jul 2021 15:04:43
Going nowhere, all part of the bargaining over a new contract. Salah will definitely be with us next year 100%.

20.) 17 Jul 2021
17 Jul 2021 15:26:14
Signing a roughly 30 goal a season inside forward/ winger like Salah will always be difficult which is why we won’t try to. We make those players not buy them. Salah wasn’t hitting those numbers before he joined us. Any recruitment is risky, I personally somewhat agree with VVVV I’m that Traore and Sarr are not the best choices, but if Klopp reckons he can turn one of or both of those two into world beater then I think he has done enough to be trusted by the fans.

21.) 17 Jul 2021
17 Jul 2021 16:24:57
In saying those (transfers are klopps choice) I'm sure they say you
Got so much deal with it. If it was klopps choice then mbappe would be coming.

{Ed001's Note - what is your point? That is the same at every club, but it is not the owners setting the budget, the club runs itself.}

22.) 17 Jul 2021
17 Jul 2021 17:41:33
I don't know where anyone is getting this info from but Salah is going nowhere.

23.) 17 Jul 2021
17 Jul 2021 17:46:24
How is it we don’t eat at the top table with transfers? We for a week had the most expensive keeper in football at £67m
The most expensive CB for a season at £75m
Regular bench/ sub players Keita, Ox and Jota cost £120m
Even our bargain hunting forward line cost £100m to put together. Isn’t that still the most expensive in the EPL? Or maybe second to Chelsea?
Just wondering the thought process behind the week don’t spend money’ comes from?

24.) 17 Jul 2021
17 Jul 2021 18:14:00
I think people need to look at where players like Salah, Mane, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Van Dijk . were at performance wise before they played under Jurgen Norbert Klopp. As long as we have Klopp we have a chance of competing for the big prizes.

25.) 18 Jul 2021
17 Jul 2021 20:53:36
I don't think he grasps that that club can't spend what they don't have Ed. so weather the club has 250,000 to spend or 250m the choice is klopps not the owners.

26.) 18 Jul 2021
18 Jul 2021 05:17:08
Actually Salah was Edwards choice, Klopp wanted a german player, so its not quite as straight forward as always Klopps choice. The data/ research plays such a big part, and so it should so that we don't end up with Paul stewarts and Razor Ruddocks.

{Ed001's Note - it was not Edwards' choice at all. Klopp was after Brandt, couldn't get him but then was convinced by the club's data analysts to go for Salah. Klopp made the decision.}

27.) 18 Jul 2021
18 Jul 2021 10:52:54
Thanks Ed001. Still, how different things are these days compared to the Sou-mess era re signings.

{Ed001's Note - very true. Souness didn't understand that you needed players to be able to do more than kick opponents into submission. He just bought a team of thugs that didn't deserve to wear the shirt.}

28.) 18 Jul 2021
18 Jul 2021 12:10:09
There's an old interview going round where Klopp says he had Edwards, Dave Fallows and Barry Hunter in his ear everyday telling him Salah was the solution until they convinced Klopp to say yes. So I think the whole scouting/ recruitment team had input on Salah.

I am so glad that those days are gone. Buying Diouf and Diao cause they had a coupe of good games in a world cup is like shopping on wish because the advert told you the product was good.
