Carragher + Neville are a dangerous double act!

{Ed0666's Note - Sky need to reel them in they are starting to revel in their hubris. They think they are untouchable.

Yeah it’s getting to the point where they’re more or less fuelling the fire.

2.) 02 May 2021
02 May 2021 18:08:46
Both are guilty for fuelling this saying fans should storm stadia etc absolute disgrace police just doing their e jobs and being attacked by mindless “protestors” which apparently is ok as the fans were nice to Gary.

Absolutely agree. Nevilles rants, while funny most of the time, boarder on inciting riots against Utd owners.

What’s worse is carragher tries to copy him, needs reeling in both of them.

{Ed0666's Note - They are reveling in their status of poster boys of the de-escalation of the ESL. It’s one thing to condone a breakaway league but to condone beating up policemen is another thing altogether.

02 May 2021 18:30:29
If it was trump it be a different reaction of course. Because it’s these two numbskulls it’s perfectly fine.
It will do no good whose got a spare 4 billion quid right now.

02 May 2021 18:40:51
the irony is they are both employees of Sky who started the downfall of football with the creation of the premier league. clowns the pair of them.

Both been far too outspoken. Talk about biting the hand and the methodology that has made them both very wealthy, led by the PL breakaway from the FL in 1992. Massive hypocrisy.

How many fans are prepared to boycott football (or any sport) to bring owners, players, agents, media, etc. to their senses in terms of the massive amounts of money they make from our love of the game? Financial fair play is a massive issue and needs to be addressed but it won't ever be. Tickets, merchandise, TV costs will all continue to go up but the vast majority will keep paying for it. If fans want the game back, stop watching and supporting it. Stop watching players cheat and feign injury.

City's bench last night was unbelievable but it's also making a mockery of football. I made the comment that we overachieved last season some weeks back and i was slaughtered for it by some. My main point was that nobody should in theory be able to compete due to their "financial strength", and the fact that we did speaks volumes for what we achieved.

If we truly address financial doping, fees and salaries, then maybe we can take back some control. But do we have the strength to do that? Today was a start and I applaud the United fans, the violence and stadium trespassing excepted, for making a stand. Football belongs to the fans and it still will long after the current crop are retired. But in what form will it be? I believe we have the power to change things but do we have the will? I'm not sure that we do. How many fans will pass up on season tickets when they go on sale?

One more point on our players: how many of them were prepared to take a small pay cut to help out the club and keep staff employed? How much did the PL players raise for the NHS nurses? I've never seen figures. The owners aren't the whole problem; the players are greedy and are fueled by their agents.

What got my back up was how Neville spun it round onto FSG too. We got our problems but he just trying to get us to riot the same or to deflect why drag us into it? Seen the videos of the plod getting bottles launched at them outside the ground imagine if that was anfield and our supporters he would be calling for us to be relegated.

Souness seed to be the only one who hit the the nail squarely on the head with regards to the historical reason as to why this has happened.

02 May 2021 19:19:19
I agree, Neville certainly thinks he some sort of sage, perhaps over confident in his own intellect at times.

{Ed0666's Note - there’s no doubt at seldom times he has some sagacious things to say but to endorse violence is ridiculous and sackable in my opinion. But Sky won’t because their petrified he goes to a rival. He’s not even a great pundit he’s just recognizable and experienced. Replace him with Kyle Martino whose less invested and so more objective

02 May 2021 19:47:37
If they didn't sack Carragher there's no chance they sack Neville. Sky think they're the best "double act" since Saint and Greavsie. They're wrong, very very wrong.

12.) 02 May 2021
02 May 2021 19:49:17
Kyle Martino is an excellent pundit who understands the game really well. We've certainly missed him in the USA this year since he was replaced by Tim Howard who is clearly out of his depth.

Neville is concerned about money trickling down to his beloved Salford FC and losing his lucrative contract w Sky should the ESL happen. He's forgetting who his paymaster is at the moment and should be sacked for acting unprofessionally.

{Ed0666's Note - Martino would be persecuted by the Sky Pundits as he actually knows what he’s talking about. Tim Howard’s punditry is no better than his keeping. He’s got shiny new teeth tho

13.) 02 May 2021
02 May 2021 20:26:27
Yeah he's a big miss. I know he's going through a family divorce so tough times for him. Not sure if that had much to do with him leaving.

{Ed0666's Note - I’m not sure the reason why Martino isn’t on NBCSN anymore but he’s a HUGE miss as he literally is the only one that knows what he’s talking about. Apart from Rebecca Lowe of course.

14.) 02 May 2021
02 May 2021 20:57:02
The American football commentators are generally HORRIBLE but he's a standout exception.

15.) 02 May 2021
02 May 2021 21:01:56
Ed0666: Rebecca Lowe is mesmerising with her beauty and her intellect.
She made a liverpool defeat not seem too bad and a victory all the more sweeter, she did have to put up with the 2 Robbies though so she did not have it all her own way!

{Ed0666's Note - how bad are the two robbies? It must be an insult to Rebecca having to listen to those two prattle on. If I was Sky I’d give Lowe an offer she can’t refuse to present their football coverage. The guy they have now is so lacking in charisma and vim.

I think the ex united defender on there is pretty good too. Forget his name. Do you have to listen to this lot back home in England?

{Ed0666's Note - ex United defender??

17.) 02 May 2021
02 May 2021 22:33:00
Danny Higginbotham. He was there for a bit.

{Ed0666's Note - I thought you meant hinginbottom but I don’t recall him playing for United. You are probably right though. To be honest with you mate he’s another one that lacks charisma and effervescence.

18.) 02 May 2021
02 May 2021 23:20:55
I think he's done well since he came on. Howard tho. they're asking him to have a chess level of understanding and he's playing tiddlywinks.

{Ed0666's Note - Howard has to go he slows down the production and has no incision with his punditry.

I don’t condone the violence, and neither did Carragher or Neville by the way, but the alternative is to let these leeches continue to rip the body and soul out of OUR game in their insatiable greed for money. Unfortunately, they laugh off peaceful protest and it doesn’t bother them one bit. The only thing that makes them sit up and take notice is when it hits them financially.

I was looking forward to the game as much as anyone but accept that some things are necessary in order to effect change. History has shown that. Football is not alone in the abuse of money and power against the masses. Similar action needs to be taken against this Tory government who, apart from the fiscal corruption, also have blood on their hands.

Rearranging the game 2 days before the Europa Cup final would be useful too.

You guys are funny with the hate for the Robbies. They aren't *that* bad. They've taken a dip in form recently but a lot of punditry talking points are guided by producers too. The Robbie's were better when the overall production was better. That's what happens when a production is really good though, it gets noticed and people get lured way for better opportunities elsewhere. There aren't hardly any producers working for these shows that are content with just being producers, they want to have their own shows.

With that said, Kyle Martino's sabbatical has been a big loss for NBCSN, and having Tim Howard be his primary replacement reflects the types of decisions that NBC is making these days. Higgenbotham is alright though.

Give Liam Rosenior a promotion to the EPL coverage. The best pundit on SKY by far.
