Jeremy Kyle couldn’t sort the amount of issues Dembele has, his lifestyle, the trashy entourage he brings with him, his attitude in training, his dietary habits. He’s a waste of DNA that lad. Whichever team is stupid enough to give Barcelona any money for him will be getting a dud of Balotelli proportions.

dembele is shaping up to be one of the huge wastes of talent of this generation. he seems to be nothing but trouble. i hope we've learned our lesson with guys who are trouble after keita.

i've read about the poor diet as well, and it explains why his muscles can barely give him 90 minutes. he's young, but he acts like he has the body of a 12 year old. no thank you.

“Great player”, you’re joking Thunderbird? Dembele has serious delusions of adequacy. He’d be doing well to be mediocre. One of the most ridiculously over rated footballers of this generation and Barcelona massively over paid for him.

He will never be a great platter and will never reach the heights that someone like Mbappe or Haaland will because he is as thick as two short planks, has no work ethic and has a body made entirely out of crisps.

There’s no hate about Dembele, he is just not a player that we should be looking at.

The negative stories about him are true, he’s almost always late at training, he has a poor diet (he lsacked the chef that Barcelona hired for him as he only likes McDonalds and other junk food apparently), he doesn’t look after himself as a professional should do, he doesn’t work hard, he’s got an appalling injury history, his end product is poor (he’s only ever got double figures in a league campaign once in his career, that was in the French league which is a bit of a farmers league. ), he hasn’t really bothered to learn Spanish and speaks literally no English and has a ‘problematic’ entourage that he hangs around with and takes everywhere with him.

All of which Barcelona have now found out to their costly mistake, frankly they’ll never recoup the money they spent on him and he’ll never be the £100M+ player they (stupidly) thought they were buying. Anyone lashing money out on him is throwing good money to bad.

He’s also said to us on at least four separate occasions that he has no interest in playing for us. When he was at Rennes, when he was at Dortmund and at least twice since he’s been at Barca. You’d think we’d get the message.

In all of this, you have to laugh at Barcelona though, they’d just rinsed PSG for the thick end of £240m for Neymar and shortly afterwards they wasted £100m (and £40m add ons) of that on Dembele, just over a week before PSG bought Mbappe for £140m.

You’d also think Klopp would remember that Dembele trashed his house and left rent arrears wouldn’t you? Surely that would be a warning sign?

But yeah, I mean all the other issues aside, he’d be a great signing, right Thunderbird? He’ll take Matip’s place in the treatment room.

I actually had no idea his issues off the pitch were that bad. On the face of it he is a decent young player but if even half of that stuff is true, we'd be bonkers to sign him.

I don't want us to blow mega bucks on Dembele, Sancho or Mbappe. The club just posted huge financial losses, and only a week ago everyone was enraged about greed in the sport. Be pretty flakey to publically support £750k a week for Mbappe or paying Sancho's agent in gold bars.

I'd much rather we do what we always do. Go get a player like Coutinho, Mane, Salah, Jota, Firmino, Sturridge, Suarez, Torres etc. Somebody on the brink of hitting their best years with massive potential, currently playing for a relatively lesser team or not playing as much as they should at a bigger club.

The likes of Eze, Neto, Raphinha and Cantwell would be who i'd look too. I'm not interested in watching the club bankrupt itself just to appease the video game players who think money grows on trees.

Just read lots Marty. There’s anither story about him phoning in with an apparent stomach upset on the day of a la liga match, so the Barcelona team doctor turned up at his house to find him and all his “posse” all asleep after having an all night party only find that Dembele was not ill at all. He is trouble with a capital T.

This is one player that any reasonable supporters should absolutely against signing as he’s in that Diouff/ Balotelli/ Keita category that we should avoid at all costs because of all the baggage that comes with it.

{Ed001's Note - I haven't read the thread but have you included how he literally did a midnight flit from Dortmund to force them to sell him to Barca? He just vanished one night, leaving his apartment trashed, and went into hiding.}

To be fair Ed0666, a lot of fans on here were against signing Keita, myself included. Ed002 and Ed001 both also highlighted concerns at the time. I remember it being discussed at length how he used to act like a rockstar and rub his team mates up the wrong way by dressing ridiculous and acting like gods gift. I'm sure Ed002 mentioned he had issues with the police over something too. A lot of people were questioning his attitude in his last year there when he was borderline petulant and got about 4 red cards whilst playing his worst football for the club.

A lot of people could see it was a risky move. Not disputing Fekir though. It was almost unanimous on here that he would be a great signing. Ed001 even suggested him before the interest was there. Keita though, you have a hazy memory if you think we were all dreaming of him in our side. He was compared to Balotelli a lot. His acting like a man child is not exclusive to his time at Liverpool.

{Ed0666's Note - the general populace of Liverpool fan didn’t know of keitas antics when he signed for us (only the readers of this site) and most of them were thrilled to be signing him. Me included. Clearly he’s a Wally and shouldn’t have been signed but we can’t get every transfer correct. Maybe Liverpool were too far gone in the transfer to pull out when he started his tawdry behavior or maybe the club thought he would redeem himself?

Ed001, I did mention him trashing Klopp’s house and leaving rent arrears, forgot to mention him going into hiding to force the move to Barca. I think Deschamp’s words sum up Dembele, in that he said that he is still a child in his head and he has no idea of how to be a professional, but the concerning thing is that he has no interest in learning.
