Morning Ed's

I have just read a post the Sheffield United are holding talks regarding taking Brewster on Loan for next season.

With the current situation regarding strikers at the club do you see this happening

Divock clearly scores important goals for us but I believe Brewster will have more of an impact.

Does this move depend on Divock being sold or do you see Brewster getting a chance next season.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool need to make a decision whether to keep Brewster as part of the first team squad giving him reasonable and increasing game time or send him out on loan again. I would hope he gets a chance next season at Liverpool. His age means there is no dependency on sales.}

Since we pulled out of the werner deal, most likely for a cheaper alternative, and if Div is sold, i would be happy for Brewster to goto the blades for a season to see what he's made of. Woodburn failed there for being a big time charlie and not fitting in with the work ethic. This would be a real test for Brewster, and if he can prove himself there with regular minutes, he will be ready for us.

I don't trust loans. They're 50/ 50 at best.

Nketiah thought he had a good move to Leeds last season then couldn't get in ahead of Bamford. Went back to Arsenal and started getting more games ahead of Lacazette and Pepe.

Parent clubs always have the best interests of the player at heart. Loan clubs normally don't.

I’m not sure where or how you’d see Brewster getting that sort of game time at Liverpool Ed?
He wouldn’t do so at any of the other top 4 sides also.

{Ed002's Note - I see no reason for Klopp not to use him as a striker and an option to any of the front three. If he won't do that then a sale makes sense. If there is no plan for the younger players they will look to leave.}

Thanks for the reply Ed

I really hope he is given the chance as he looks to be in good form.

It seems to be the right time to let Origi move on and for Brewster to try push himself to compete with the front three.

Origi has scored massive goals and will always be remembered but I would like to see Origi get the chance to play 30/ 35 games a season somewhere and see how many he can score / improve.

Id put Brewster above Origi and the way Firmino has been playing for the last 6 months or so a few extra starts wouldn't be a surprise, the boys got the talent and the best coach to get that talent out of him.

I'd keep Origi, I'd only loan him to a team if he wasn't going to be starting or at least start and play a full game every few weeks. He played well at Swansea and looked decent in the preseason, he's worth keeping and putting on. Look at United, all their strikers got injured and Greenwood stepped up. I'd love to see Brewster starting some games for us.

We're facing a condensed season. The same number of games, the same number of competitions, but 5 weeks shorter than normal. That's 35 days shorter. The only way to make sure you don't tire out the starting XI is to use more of rotation, rest the starters once in a while, and keep maximum players fit and fresh. This is how Brewster, and all the others beyond the starting XI, will contribute. Klopp has already talked about this in a pressie, saying this was what he would do. Clearly the bench will get more chances than ina normal season.

Simples, Brewster needs game time with us to develop. I had high hopes when Origi joined us being a good young upstart but its never quite worked out with us.

He now needs game time at a mid table club to show what he can do. Maybe send him on a season long loan if he is happy to do that?

Ings should have stayed, look at thr form he had at Southampton!

as AA has mentioned, we have a condensed season, with no winter break,
this means more rotation, to keep everyone fit and happy,
Brewster would get game time,
and I think that he could go up to another level,
we have a great young player here, let's play him .

Brewster needs to be playing no matter what. If Klopp wants to use him as a fourth choice striker behind Origi, he should go on loan, preferably to Leeds although Sheffield isn't the worst place he could end up. If we are moving Origi on it is a no brainer we need to play him. I personally would like to see Jones Brewster and Williams integrated into the team even at the cost of more senior figures at the club.

Brewster is staying.
