Just been reading an article about Barcelona having held recent discussions with Klopp's representatives. Seems like they see him as a long term successor to Setien and that Koeman is seen as a stop gap.

Anyone else seen this?

{Ed002's Note - I am sure it won't be Barcelona but Jordi Farre who will be standing for President next spring. It will be the same as Victor Font has said he will sack Koeman regardless and appoint Xavi. It means nothin. Don't worry about it.}

I don't think Klopp would leave us till his contract is up then he said he is taking a year out And I think he will wait for the German job something that's not as full on 24/ 7.

It's just politics and an upcoming election that is involved. We all know politics involves promises and intentions being made public. Nobody cares much about keeping them once the objective is won. I'm not sure Klopp would ever accept to be in such an environment where there'd be so many people sticking their fingers into team management matters.

My guess for Klopp's next job would be Athletico or Napoli, if he doesn't go back to Mainz.

Reckon the German job will be his next challenge, he normally does 7 years at a club, think it’ll be 9 if he sees out his contract.

Klopp is very much all or nothing and not sure he has another prolonged stint at a club other than the national side in him.

I do believe Klopp is a man of his words, and if all goes well, he will honour his contract till the end. There's still a few more years to go in his contract and many things can happen till then. If he's really happy, he might change his mind and extend for a few more years, who knows? But at least for now, Klopp has mentioned what's in his mind. I don't think he is a manager that will jump ship when he's still building something incredible.

Maybe if Barcelona comes back at the end of his Liverpool contract, he might consider it but I suppose the German National team's job will be more attractive to him.

Klopp is going nowhere. This is election time in Barcelona and a lot of stuff gets thrown out there to get the fans (the electorate) wound up. Nothing to see here.
