Agreement between Thiago and Lfc I'm reading but we still not contacted Bayern. I guess I will file this under the BS section then.

Why is it BS?

Because we never tap up players ;)

I believe we would have to break our wage structure to bring him in, which is unlikely.

I'd love him top player.

If it’s true he wants us there be know wage structure broken!
Anyway can't see this deal happening as Ed says we broke as fook.

@Southern Red: The Ed-s have repeatedly informed us of the financial struggles of the club owing to CV and that it is highly likely that we wouldn't pay the transfer fee for someone potentially not having much of a resale value going forward. But your statement that acquiring him will break our wage structure is factually incorrect. We have always been told how high our wages are. I understand Thiago is currently paid 125k per week (if I were to trust the internet) and we paid Clyne c.80k per week all this while.

Where are you getting 125k from? He’s on c€12m annually which works out about €240k pw.

Salah is on 200 as the highest currently. It doesn’t look likely.

{Ed0666's Note - This doesn’t make any sense at all from a financial perspective. I hope we don’t do an Arsenal.

We are broke but still the biggest club in england.
We have players to sell. If we sell grujic and wislon and loose one of shaq/ origi/ gini suddenly people on here will demand to pay 60 million for carlos.
However the biggest problem with these signings as eds have eluded multiple times to is that they are not home grown. So we need to look at players over 21 with 3 domestic seasons under their belt.

That said Thiago is a world class marquee player if there was ever one. I will buy him. He adds a lot to our already fantastic but boring midfield however him being non HG makes little chance for this to happen.

I expect us to make atleast two more noteable signings this season though.

If Thiago wants to join that much, above any other club, then surely he will fall into line and be on equal pay to our highest earners, but no more. Its not like he needs the money. Playing for JK and the reds has a value beyond anything that money can buy. Personally i think TA would be a world class signing .

Why do people keep having the same conversation over and over again! It's getting boring for me, let alone the eds. have we got money? Why not? Are we going to buy Tiago? Blah blah blah. RTP or ask a different question, it's all been done to death now.

If we’re going to splash out on an expensive player, wages wise or transfer fee, it doesn’t need to be a cm.

The great Liverpool teams used to take in great players if they became available. IMO he is a brilliant player who would add something complex different to the team dynamic. Klopp keeps making small changes each season to make us less predictable. I for one hope this happens🤞.

For those who want to sign him do ye think it would mean a change of formation or for him to take Fabinho's spot?

I know it's nice to have options of course but if bringing in someone on the highest wages in the club they cannot be an option or rotation, they would have to clearly be for the best 11.

I think Fabinho is brilliant and I think the wages would be too high that loads of players would want pay rises.

It won't happen.

I think it’s all about options. Different games may require different players. If we need to move the ball quickly then him and Naby in the same formation could allow us to attack quickly using different passing angles. I also think that Fabinho can play in front or alongside him if required. Also Milner probably has one year left at Liverpool so why not integrate Thiago in now.

This will literally rumble on until we see him in Paris holding up a PSG shirt saying how much he’s always wanted to play for them and work with whichever manager they haven’t sacked yet.
