Dear Ed

Liverpool will lost 3-4 HG players at the end of this season. (Lonergan, Clyne, Lallana and Curtice-Davis) .
Would it please be possible if you give us to the solving this issue of the Club?
Any players who are interest by the Club?

Thank you sir.

{Ed002's Note - My expectation is that Lonergan can be replaced by Kelleher. Clyne has already been replaced by Neco Williams as more than adequate cover for Alexander-Arnold. I would expect Curtis Jones to effectively take Lallana's place in the squad. Isaac Christie-Davies is not out of contract in the summer and was removed from the first team squad in January. I expect he will be available to be sold, but he will not need replacing. So there are no issues here for the club.}

Thanks Eds, glad to know we have enough youngsters to take HG spots of leaving players!

Ed what is the clubs thoughts on Paul Glatzel, I know he has recently had an injury he may even still be injured but prior to that he was somewhat prolific, is there a thought/ plan to get him into the first team.

Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - he is highly thought of enough that he was asked by Klopp to do his rehab work with the first team. If it wasn't for his injuries, he would have led the line in the cup games. There is a lot of belief in his ability and his attitude has been exemplary, he has shown real drive to recover from previous injuries. Just have to hope this latest injury, which was a particularly nasty ACL injury which affected other ligaments too, has not destroyed any chance of making it.}

Wouldn't it be amazing to have a new Fowler or Owen come through to the first team? Especially a Fowler who scored all types of goals and didn't reply on speed just instinct and that laser left foot!

{Ed001's Note - Glatzel is more of a deep-lying type of forward, which is why he linked up so well with Duncan.}

Yes that would be a massive shame if he was to lose his shot due to injury. I remember him and Duncan where highly impressive together and interesting to see how the two have gone about their chances in completely different ways.

I suppose there has never been a greater chance for youth players to take their chance given the economic state of clubs.

Thank you for the reply and your time.

{Ed001's Note - it will be interesting to see how much of Duncan's scoring was due to Glatzel's quality and if he is really as good as he seemed. I know a couple of people who think he only got the chance because of who he was related to.

It also helps that the changes to allow extra subs should give more opportunities to them as well.

You are very welcome.}

Yes keep forgetting that too, do you think it could be adopted more long term like into the new season?

{Ed001's Note - that is certainly what Serie A are pushing for, so probably.}

Thanks Ed. Hypothetical question for you - if the 18 year old Robbie Fowler was coming through now, would he force his way into the starting 11 or never get the chance given our front line are so good and reliable.

{Ed001's Note - Fowler was that good he could force himself into the team. I think people don't realise just how good he was. He was truly special.}

Nobody would give Timmo Werner a second thought if the 18yr old Robbie Fowler was available now, Ed001 is right this kid was special, 5 goals vs fulham, destroying utd's defence and making a fool of there goalkeeper at OT being among his early highlights, such a shame injuries and Houllier ruined his career.

{Ed001's Note - absolute genius, such a good natural finisher and any free kicks around the edge of the box were almost certain goals. Loved Fowler as a player.}

He got a goal in the 4-3 against Newcastle. The ball came to him but it was in an awkward position and he had no time. The only way to score was hit it hard with the outside of his boot to swerve it away from the keeper. That's what he did. It looked a scrappy goal but it was the only way to score. And he had all of this calculated and executed in a split second. He was magnificent!

I just watched it on YouTube. A typical mcmanaman run and low cross. Fowler let it come across his body and lashed it in low with the outside of the left foot. It was pure genius. Then he dived into the net after it. One of the great goals I think. My favourite Liverpool player.

On the extra subs comment, I personally do not hope it is implemented. It ruins many friendly international (if they are not pointless enough) . It is used to draw out games that teams are winning and to break the rhythm. for me, 3 is plenty.

Just my thoughts.

In this crazy time - i understand it (if not support it) but please not in "normal times"

The biggest shame for Fowler was that he wasnt given the deserved shot at international level. The best finisher i've ever seen truly.

I wouldn't mind keeping the 9 on the beach and 5 able to come on. However what if the 2 extra subs had to be youngsters to promote youth development, probably never going to happen but just thought I'd throw that idea out there and see what over people think.

Ed001 Am I right in thinking fowler not did his knee against Everton and was never quite the same again. We had a good chance of the league that year till the injury if an remembering right. Then Owen took over and the team was built round him football was not as good from then till klopp took over a lot more defensive.

{Ed001's Note - that is a long time ago and I can't remember who he picked up his injury against now.}
