Hi guys, first time poster, but been reading your content for years. Keep up the amazing work. About transfers now, is there any legs to the coutinho stuff or is it click bait. Are we likely to do any business this year. Again keel up the good work, love to all and stay safe guys.

{Ed002's Note - As has been explained, Coutinho will have been discussed. Liverpool have financial commitments that must be met. There will be some sales and if there are to be additions there will need to be places in the squad available and the players must be an improvement on what there is now, otherwise it will add nothing. Regardless of what Klopp has said, given he struggles with the truth, I would expect a couple of changes over the summer.}

I would take coutinho over shaq in the squad like for like if possible an affordable.

hailstones, Coutinho burnt his bridges long ago, faking a back injury to force his move through, refusing to play. Shopping in the Barcelona deadwood sales is not something we should engage in, he can stay gone, he’s not welcome back.

Like you said 6times he’s burn he’s bridges but more importantly as eds1 has pointed out he doesn’t fit our style of play and would probably slow us down and let face it even he’s loan fee isn’t going to be cheap.
It’s a no from me!

All the above true but he would be more useful than shaq, he can't play a full 90 mins or even get on the pitch too perform look how much he is injured . I am speaking from a point of view that we haven't got no dough and we need quality, ideally I wanted the likes of werner, havertz, arouar, dybala but the reality is we will have too be creative . I wouldn't spend money on coutinho but a loan might be useful in our situation especially if shaq leaves .

A loan fee and a salary of more than £200’000 a week. No thanks. No thanks at all. Sentimental nonsense if you ask me.

I have too agree 6 times he would not be nowhere near my first choice, but the reality is he would contribute more than shaq and I am just using his name cos he is linked, I don't think klopp would have him back anyways .

I struggle with Coutinho returning and gracing the Anfield turf. Equally in life we make mistakes and get our heads turned. I do forgive him for that. We plucked him from obscurity from Milan and made him the player he is/ could be. The fact that he hasn’t really done on it on the big scene suggests he is made for a club like ours. I don’t think he would fit our system now and I think we are better now than we were when he was with us. I must be getting old and sentimental but I do think there is a rotational squad place for him, but he won’t want that. He is a match winner but needs to play regularly. Maybe New Astley if they can afford him?

We don’t want him or his sore back he paid for his way out! I’m grateful we got vvd and Becker but he burnt his bridges if was getting a game or Barcelona or Munich we’d not even be a blip in his head! Good luck to him but it’s a no for me!

I don't get the obsession with bringing Coutinho back. He's a player that had a very good 18 months for us prior to him forcing his way out of the club. Before that he was very hit and miss often doing nothing for multiple games at a time and since he has left us he has gone back to that. If he hadn't once played for us nobody would be asking us to sign him now.

would you take your wife/ girlfriend/ boyfriend/ back just because its not worked out with the person they left you for?
every time we sell a player we seem to have a clamour to buy them back, his time with us is over, quit living in the past, let sleeping dogs lie and more importantly let's move on.
Look to the future. PC belongs in our past.
