Seen a few rumours circulating about Liverpool being interested in Diego Carlos, a CB from Sevilla. I find it rather strange considering the proposed fee is astronomical, just short of Van Dijk's initial fee. I guess paper bollocks?

@AggerDo Can't see Liverpool spending £70mil on a player who's career could be ended by any contact in the groinal area.

I've seen this rumour too. He'd obviously be a great signing if Lovren left at the end of the season, but would he want to compete in a four way competition between VVD, Gomez, Matip and him?

He'd no doubt improve our options but for that money, is he better than Gomez, and if slightly so, would you want to spend that amount of money to put another young player to block or hinder Gomez's career.

Call me patriotic, but I want to see Gomez become the best English defender for a long time.
