Hi Eds, pardon me if you've already discussed this before. Is Liverpool really interested in Amine Harit from Schalke? If so, who do you think he'll replace?

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Amine Harit is having a decent season but I am not aware of interest of Liverpool. He would be effectively a like-for-like replacement for Shakiri and he would likely get around the same amount of opportunities. He will be 21 or so now and I would expect a drop to the bench would not be attractive for a player who is playing regularly at a good level. He has turned down clubs in the past as it would stagnate. It makes no sense for the player or the club.}

Ed002 you’ve cited midfield / AM as possible positions that Liverpool may strengthen in summer.
What level of player do you envisage if such a move seems unattractive for this lad?
Someone who’ll go straight in the team or what, as midfield is the one area that Klopp regularly rotates and game time may be more readily available than elsewhere in the team?

{Ed002's Note - If they are to go straight in to the team then first team players will need to leave - so it would not be a simple case of Coutinho replacing Shakiri as Shakiri is a bit part player - the same if replacing Lallana. The club should be looking to see if they can get a work permit for Grujic before looking at the market.}

On the midfield subject Ed do you think there is a chance Shaqiri might leave in Jan or the Summer in search of more opportunities?

{Ed002's Note - I would think he will go in the Summer.}

Owe ok mate, I was thinking he might be getting annoyed at lack of playing time. You mentioned Zielinski previously, do you think he is attainable or far fetched for the summer mate please? Guess he wants to be guaranteed starter every week.

{Ed002's Note - As a wildcard I would not lose sight of PZ. Klopp likes him and got Liverpool a warning for tapping him up previously.}

Ok Ed cheers mate, I get what your saying. Looks a decent player to me, not sure he is a big improvement to what we have but would be a welcome addition imo.

{Ed002's Note - Klopp thought so - but when it all came out (only about a year ago) everyone was in denial because of a new contract at Napoli. Now Napoli are in a very difficult position there might well be an opportunity.}

Eds, how would Zielinski fit into this midfield though? Keita, Lallana, and Milner have all seen part-time duties from injuries or just lack of opportunity. I get it with Lallana and Milner considering the stage of their careers, but Keita obviously wasn't brought in to sit on the fringes. Do you think he would have to move on in order to make room for Zielinski or do you see a setup where we'd add him without subtracting Keita?

{Ed002's Note - He would have been a significantly better option than Nobby Keita. I don't suppose there would be many tears if he were moved on. But you are right, if players are to come in then others have to go. Against him is also that if Grujic returns and gets a Work Permit how he will fit in to an already crowded midfield where there are three starting places available. Lallana is more attacking that PZ. If money is spent on replacing Shakiri and bringing in a starting player in an attacking role (e.g. the Coutinho type), then that means that there will be only two spots available in midfield - something like 4-2-3-1 or 4-2-1-3.}

Have to agree with Ed002 about the midfield congestion. Even if Milner and Lallana go, we still have 6 senior midfielders (provided Grujic gets a WP) . How do u expect the club to convince another midfielder to join unless assurances r made that people like Grujic, Keita or even Hendo are moved on?
I'd rather sign a versatile forward to replace Shaq and only sign a midfielder if Grujic or Keita move on.
