Ed’s,

If Salah we’re to leave, would we look at the likes of Sancho?

Or do you know any targets.

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I expect one would be Federico Chiesa (RW/LW/F) but there significant interest from elsewhere and Fiorentina are planning on pricing him out of a move (at something like €120M). Liverpool has shown no interest, but if they do it would be as a Salah replacement - Klopp likes him I understand.}

I'm not convinced Chiesa would be great for us and would prefer us to look at David Neres.

Its fine klopp has been spot on 90%+ times in transfer signings for us so i trust him.

Neres for salah? Jesus Christ!

Sancho, Yes Definitely but he'd be very expensive. But so would Salah leaving. So it'd maybe even out.

Neres is not the same level by a country mile.

At the moment, the only two players I see as being able to replace Salah are Sancho or Mbappe, but it's crazy how fast the up and coming players come into stardom. It'll likely be someone we haven't heard of yet.

I'd look at a few others like Justin Kluivert and Leon Bailey. Even an Ousmane Dembele may not that be bad if he's taken away from that Barcelona pressure cooker and Klopp is allowed to work on him.

As unlikely as it would be,

If Salah was to leave I would hope we would enquire around Mbappe.

Ed002, has Salah it his agent made any more noises about leaving since start of season? Madrid ship has sailed as they’ve bought numerous players in. If he were to leave there isn’t many players on his level to replace him imo. Insigne isn’t his level not sure about Chiesa. Any others you think might fit the bill if the unthinkable happened?

{Ed002's Note - l Madrid’s plans are to buy for Salah’s position next summer and his agent will continue to push but they want Mbappe. As I have said before, Klipperty likes both players but Insigne would be a Mane replacement, not Salah.}

"Unthinkable"? He's going to leave at some point, and if he doesn't, he'll get old and lose his pace anyway.

I think that Salah relies more on his pace than Mane does. I think that Sadio would be able to adapt his play as he starts to notice his pace deteriorating.

Also, let's say Salah gives us 2 more years. Who's to say that Elliott won't be up to the task by then?

Is chiesa not right footed.

Even if Salah stays two more years Elliot will still only be 18. So a direct replacement would be required. ArAy1969 you named 3 players who predominantly play on the left so they'd be unlikely. Sancho would be my first pick and Chiesea my second. Our first ever Italian success story?

Reynard, I am actually in agreement with the opposite of your point. I think Federico Chiesa is actually better than David Neres and he would be my pick for Klopp to sign. Neres to me, is a bit of hit and miss and can go missing during games, like he did during the Copa America where he got benched after two games for poor play and Everton took his place.

You cannot say that about Federico Chiesa. The guys is brilliant and can play on either side and with either foot, just like his brilliant dad Enrico Chiesa once did, terrorizing the whole of Serie A and Europe while at Parma (with strike partner Hernan Crespo) in his pomp in the 90's. CHiesa would be my preference BUT if Klopp wants Neres then I'm all for it.
