If Klopp persists with him and keeps getting proven wrong I don’t think the fans will be on his side. I just don’t get it at all.

Ed002 had a few things to say about klopp and his one dimensional style before he joined.

And klopp keeps going from strength to strength. So looking a bit silly now.

{Ed002's Note - Has he won the League yet? FA Cup? League Cup? Freight Rover Trophy? Did he buy a player that the fans have absolutely destroyed? Has his tactician walked out? I don't think I look too silly.}

Ed2 has got a point to be fair. It's not Karius' fault he is our number 1. Its not like saying how bad he has been changes the situation. If Karius stays as no 1 and costs us vital points then it's not him we should be pointing fingers at.

Agreed Barnes. If Klopp does persist with Karius and mistakes keep occurring it will turn. I wish Loris well as I think their genuinely could be a very good keeper in their somewhere. He was very good in Germany but these mistakes have all stemmed from his first season with us and now his confidence is shot. Even if he makes mistakes at the same rate as other keepers his will now always be highlighted. I thinks it’s best for all of he leaves and start again elsewhere.

In my mind, Ed rightly has a grievance with the knuckle draggers who made threats to Karius. As any of us should, it’s only a friendly let’s not lose sleep over it.

I agree with Ed002 here, the route of the goalkeeper issue stems from the manager, he’s had 3 years to sort this now and we still haven’t. Overall Klopp is taking us in a great direction playing some great football but at the end of the day, we’ve won the sum total of sod all. If at the end of the season, all we have to show for ourselves is more lost finals and a 4th place finish then Klopp has serious questions to answer to. It’s not like we’re operating on a shoestring budget and he’s doing wonders on limited resources! It’s a results business at the end of the day.

All you karius love in People will be sorry he'll loose us a boat load of points if he remains number 1. The bloke needs to go on loan preferably to another country to get his confidence back. Folks this ain't under 12 football get a grip of your emotions here.

Fans backed Rogers for a couple of years and then got tired of his pass-for-passings-sake style of football and his cliches and self-congratulatory interviews. Klopp gets a longer length of rope as his style of football is phenomenal to watch and he has brought us close to success without constantly spruiking himself.

{Ed0333's Note - I concur with vigor and gusto mate.

I'm just enjoying watching us play honestly, not getting the trophies I've wanted but some of the best football I've seen us play in a long time. Typically disagree with ED002's opinions, but respect his knowledge and his ability to deal with constant abuse.

Karius has constantly improved and since Christmas conceded fewer goals than all but Man City. He had a nightmare in the final but has since been proven to have been confused. Whatever happened to YNWA, doesn’t it count if you let in a couple in a final.
If we can’t find a better goalkeeper what’s the point in changing for the sake of it. Nobody is happy with the other options anyway unless it’s Alisson, who in my opinion is not worth anything like £90mill.

Klopp’s sticking his neck out for Karius. It could be his biggest mistake as Liverpool manager. Butland would be a better shout than Karius right now, at least he’d be starting with a clean slate. Karius isn’t going to be able to fart without someone complaining about the smell.

13.) 11 Jul 2018
11 Jul 2018 07:43:32
That first goal Tranmere scored from the free kick will be replicated by every other premiership team next season if Karius is in goal for Liverpool, I fear for him especially if he does that all preseason.

14.) 11 Jul 2018
11 Jul 2018 07:44:52
Yeah Chardd, until Butland makes a few mistakes and he gets the same treatment mate. Our fans are never happy, it wouldn't matter what keeper we brought in, world class or not they'd still get destroyed by our fans for making a few mistakes. The word 'support' seems to of died off these days.

Ed2 is here for 2 things on this site, to give info and to have some banter. he is very good at both. Sometimes people need to spot the banter and devils advocate posts he makes and enjoy them rather than getting stressed out. Just enjoy the rodeo clown while you can fellas!

11 Jul 2018 08:17:34
All these people saying "Klopp's sticking his neck out", do they not think that FSG will be backing their manager on this?
Does anybody seriously think that FSG will dump Klopp because a few hysterical old women on here want Karius gone after the CL final?
I could be more sympathetic to people's responses if they had Klopp's track record of success and with player development, but I've yet to come across any successful managers posting on this site.

Agree Ed we haven’t won any trophies but I disagree that is a reflection on Klopp. He’s lead us to multiple finals now with practically an 11 man squad. His style of play has unified fans who enjoy watching the adrenaline of our fast paced football. He’s now building a team that has more depth than 11 men. That for me is progress in Klopp as manager.

{Ed002's Note - He has not had an 11 man squad. And you are happy with his illegal approaches to players, getting one player to go on strike, causing the club to make a grovelling apology in order to avoid more charges, being the cause of the club having to pay way over the odds for players? You keep celebrating coming second an you will be happy.}

Mings got more than a fair crack at being the number 1. Now Karius has come in and it's obvious he is no upgrade so of course the fans want a keeper who gives us a chance to win things.

With Mings we nearly won the league and we all know what happened last season. We are building a top quality side but the keeper is no where near the required level.

Karius is not good at any aspect of goalkeeping. distribution, shot stopping, communication, mentality, presence and catching he is average at best in all these areas. Blind faith is not going to help him or us.

{Ed002's Note - Klopp clearly disagrees with you.}

I'm with ed002 I really don't like Klopp he seems a serial loser. His record in finals in particular is shocking, the behaviour with transfers even worse. But I don't hold him responsible for karius, we've had a long existing problem with keepers bar maybe reina and even he dropped off near the end, maybe starting looking at the common denominator, us. Or blame Achtinberg like most of the lads in the pub.

{Ed002's Note - It is not a case of not liking Klopp, it is how the supporters apportion blame. Previously it would have been Rodgers' fault. Now not a word can be said against Klopp and we are now seeing a proposal to set fire to Karius' house to force him out.}

20.) 11 Jul 2018
11 Jul 2018 08:56:11
Morning Ed, I hope he agrees and I think he does. There will be a new keeper in the team before the first game I am confident. Overall when Klopp has spent money at Liverpool he has got value for money. Keita will be another bargin.

{Ed002's Note - I would expect Mignolet to leave regardless, so a new GK would hardly be a surprise.}

Haven't heard the fire one buthat that's disgusting, yet not surprising seeing the half-wit full kit walkers walking round Liverpool whenever we play well yet threatening families when something goes wrong.

Maybe I misread your view on Klopp but I don't like him, I get the feeling he thinks he's above the club and the ethos installed for moons, it's his behavior during transfer dealing and incessant cheerleading want us to believe his been sitting on the Kop since he was a kid.

Cue my abuse now.

{Ed025's Note - you deserve every bit you get for me mate..

I remember when we were hailed as having the best fans in the world. How times have changed.
I remember when fans used to support the club and its players, not issue death threats, wishing cancer on children or wanting to be arsonists.
What a world we live in.

{Ed025's Note - i agree with you mushroom..

For me Mr Ed002, football is an entertainment business. I, for one am very entertained by watching Klopps Liverpool team play pro-active and high octane football. We haven't won anything as of yet, down to numerous reasons one being Klopp so im not questioning you on every angle but i can assure you as a fan of this club, speaking on behalf of most supporters we are fully behind him. There is a lot of abuse towards players, as you have noted and i fully agree that some of the fans that abuse our own players instead of getting behind them is atrocious. However, we back the manager and yet we are made to feel stupid for backing him by yourself, contradiction much?

Clearly you are an intelligent man but this would seem very personal toward Liverpool supporters apposed to being a fair critique. Just my opinion, hope you take it on the chin old chap.

{Ed002's Note - Nobody is questioning whether the fans are behind Klopp or not. If you feel stupid, that is because in such situations in the past the fans have turned on the coaches and not only the players - vandalising Anfield to get coaches out is one old trick. I think you will find I have done nothing but been entirely honest about Liverpool supporters so you whinong dig at me is no more than embarrassing for you in my eyes.}

@ flashthered
My point being that klopp seems to be showing faith in Karius and that’s commendable but if karius fluffs his lines it’s going to be on klopp and not the player. One of his qualities is the faith he puts in his players and it pays off more than not and I hope it really pays off with Karius but I worry that Karius will let him down. It’s going to take incredible strength of character to pick himself up from his champions league final howlers, if he does we may just have our world class keeper but, if he doesn’t?

{Ed002's Note - Clearly that is not the case, Klopp is immune.}

We continue to improve under klopp. We played some of the best football in Europe last season. we have faith in our manager to bring us success on the pitch. That's enough for me.
