Don't how reliable they are but UOL are reporting we met with Alisson's reps on Saturday. Says he's also in talks with Real Madrid but the 70m euros Roma are asking for is currently a sticking point for them.

Surprised that Madrid are still interested in him when their long term target is open for a move to Spain ( Courtois) 🤔🤔.

Isnt Madrids long term target De Gea?

Seems like a lazy rumour to me. Throw it out there because he was in liverpool yesterday. Have we not got an office in london where these behind closed doors meetings happen?

There is a good chance that Alisson's reps were at Anfield this weekend gone as he was playing there.
Liverpool's representatives likely 'met' various agents and managers from most of the Brazil and Croatia squads.

I still expect Butland to sign at the moment, we've already signed Kieta and Fabinho and perhaps Fekir will come too. Surely we're not going to be able to afford spending an absolute fortune on someone like Alisson as well.

Don't like to talk finances cos really i don't know exactly how these things work. But let's assume it works how most of us think it does.
We sold Coutinho for 142m. We were primed to buy Keita and VVD well before the Coutinho sale was mooted, so I think its fair to say those his sale wasn't intended to balance out those two. We got to the CL finals which is another 70m. that's 212m to spend off the bat.
Assuming we met the rumored asking prices of Fekir and Alisson, that would be 120m for the pair. Plus Fabinho is 160m. Even if we add Keitas fee for good measure, that's about 220m. All this is without considering what our summer transfer budget would be.

Look, I might be splitting hairs here but I don't think its as outlandish as what you might be thinking.

{Ed001's Note - and this is why we don't like talking money on here!}

Jimmy you forgot to include Klopp's foot massage bill. The owners have been haemorrhaging debt at a rate of £500k a week since Klopp signed because of his crazy pedicure routine. Not including his foot massage agent, who also receives what is not an insignificant fee.

Don't forget all the agent fees and taxes, as well as many other fees on top of all these (sign on bonus, registrations etc) transfers. That ain't no pocket change.

You were very right. You shouldn't be talking about finances. You truly do not know how they work.
