Ed001 rumours have started on Twitter that buvac is leaving at the end of this season can you confirm that this is nonsense?

{Ed001's Note - no idea sorry, literally just woken up and had nothing yet.}

Reports are saying he's already gone! . not good timing.

2.) 30 Apr 2018

Tbh can't really see that happening. They are working together since Mainz Days (2001) and i don't see why they should change now.

Crammie, maybe it's due to new found fame and $. I believe the pay between Buvac and Klopp is huge! Not only that, Klopp gets all the accolades when you can say 90% of research is by 2 assistants.

4.) 30 Apr 2018

Seems like he's gone. Must have been quite a bust up for him to leave a month before the season ends.

5.) 30 Apr 2018

Now being reported by LFC reporters. The club says he's taking a break from the first team.

He’s a grown man I don’t think it’s because Klopp gets all the fame lol.

A shame none the less, but good luck to him for the future.

No idea if it’s true but I’ve heard Buvac has flown home.
And that the bust up with Klopp was over Gini Wijnaldum.
Buvac believes Gini should be first choice in midfield and fears he’ll leave if he’s only going to be a squad player. Especially when Keita and maybe another midfielder comes in.
Like I said, only what I’ve been told.

9.) 30 Apr 2018
30 Apr 2018 10:02:28
Does this mean gerrard number 2 and not off to rangers.

10.) 30 Apr 2018
30 Apr 2018 10:15:11
The club has now confirmed to reputable reporters that he is on leave for personal reasons. He has not left the club. Duncan Castles (the Manc supporting journo of sorts) stoked the fires late last night when he suggested that Zeljko Buvac had quit the club but the club has categorically denied this stating that Buvac remains an employee of the club.

I think there has been strong disagreement behind the scenes for a while.

I was puzzled by Kopp's appearing so sensitive about his team selection and substitutions recently. I wondered who he was responding to.

Not as puzzled now.

Best of luck to him. I hope he lands a great job somewhere.

12.) 30 Apr 2018
30 Apr 2018 13:20:40
Gerrard number 2. is this a joke, because it's not a very funny one.

13.) 30 Apr 2018

I think for this one it's going to have to be a case of 'wait and see' and dropping the speculation. It could literally be anything from a long list of possibilities, for example serious family illness, relationship problems, workplace falling-out, lifestyle problems, threats from Serbian gangsters etc etc etc.

It will come out in the next few weeks whatever it is. I just hope it's nothing serious on a personal level and it doesn't have the same effect that Pako leaving had under Benitez (we were never the same after that for the rest of Benitez's reign)

{Ed001's Note - it is just a case of wait and see but it is a case of someone who was the main man feeling marginalised by the fitness coaches having a bigger say in team selection than he does, from what I can find out. That seems to be the key issue here. So I do not expect it to be resolved in any kind of return of Buvac, more likely a parting of the ways. It is not about player 1 or player 2 being chosen as such, it is because the tactical considerations Buvac believes in are now being totally overridden by the fitness considerations. I do not see this being solved easily or at all to be honest.}

14.) 30 Apr 2018
30 Apr 2018 14:07:18
Ed 001, what u say totally ties in with Henrikh Mkhitaryan say about Klopp. Klopp has a soft spot for hard running tireless working on field. Mkhitaryan feel Tuchel got Dortmund playing a more intelligent style of football post-Klopp. Could be Klopp's selection leaning towards fitness rather than finesse.

{Ed001's Note - Mkhitaryan was an average player who was not putting in the effort and so was looking for someone else to blame for being a lazy tool. Same reason Jose dumped him so quick. He is not as good as he thinks he is.

This is nothing to do with hard running, try reading what I said properly. It is about players being selected for fitness reasons rather than tactical ones. The rotation to keep them fresh etc, not about how fast or hard they run.}

15.) 30 Apr 2018
30 Apr 2018 14:07:46
I remember someone posting on here recently (may have been you Ed001) that the fitness coach is doing a great job and is getting a lot of praise for the upturn in form and fitness in the squad, it’s a shame Buvac feels like he needs to leave though.

16.) 30 Apr 2018
30 Apr 2018 14:23:55
Ed001 - I wanted to ask a follow up question to your comment. It's a given that Buvac and Klopp may decide how things go on the field, i. e. how the player plays. But it's pretty obvious that it is the fitness coaches who decide whether a player steps on the to the field or not, isn't it? So I don't see why Buvac should feel marginalised if a player is physically unable to perform? Or am I missing something? I don't know anything about the internal workings of a football team's structure, but is there a separate hierarchy for the fitness and medical staff? Do they report to Klopp or to someone else? Is this the result of some kind of power play or power struggle?

{Ed001's Note - this last few weeks most of the decisions on player selections, in the Prem at least, have been governed by resting players for the CL. Buvac would have done things differently and the whole thing just came to a head. While it is perfectly possible things can be resolved, the fact that he is basically being overruled constantly is not likely to change. So I do not see any return for him to be honest.}

17.) 30 Apr 2018
30 Apr 2018 14:31:54
Okay, Ed001, thanks.

{Ed001's Note - the thing is it is very hard to tell for sure, as it is like a marriage, sometimes one or both has to compromise. Buvac has been compromising all along to be Klopp's number 2, rather than taking his own role as a number 1. I think it has just been one too many compromises. The club would not be giving him the time off if they were sure it was over though. So I might well be wrong and it can be resolved. Maybe some flowers and chocolates, a romantic meal for 2 and breakfast in bed the next morning can sort out their differences?}

18.) 30 Apr 2018
30 Apr 2018 15:12:49
Ed001, I think UCL medal given personally to him by Klopp will soothe whatever grievances.

{Ed001's Note - good idea.}

19.) 30 Apr 2018
30 Apr 2018 15:25:33
Usually a raise in salary helps soothe things. Did Buvac and Kraviec get raises and extensions when Klopp got his? I just hate the timing of it before the biggest game of the year so far.

On a side note, do Eds know if Firmino's extension has a release clause?

{Ed001's Note - it is not about money and release clauses are irrelevant in England.}

20.) 30 Apr 2018
30 Apr 2018 15:30:14
It's also potentially possible that Klopp can reassure him next season, with the workload shared across the season by a few more bodies, that everyone will naturally be getting a little more rest anyway and therefore we will have more scope to be picking teams solely on the tactical merit of players. Of course that could also go the other way - Buvac being overridden by Klopp trying to give our game time and keep players happy - but it's possible.

21.) 30 Apr 2018
30 Apr 2018 15:57:42
Some very big news about our club has just dropped. On the eve of the biggest game in a decade.

So obviously we're going to speculate about what has happened. What did people expect?

Thanks, Ed001 for shedding some light.

{Ed001's Note - the problem is, and why it has only come to light now despite being an issue all season, Buvac and Klopp are always bickering. Usually they kiss and make up pretty quick. Which is why this does seem unlikely to be fixed, as it has reached the point of separation.}

22.) 30 Apr 2018
30 Apr 2018 16:20:43
It seems to me it will be mainly up to Buvac whether there is a return. As you say, the door has been left open for him.

It might be he wants to be number 1 somewhere, but in that case why wait so long? One phone call from Klopp would surely have gotten him the head job at say, Mainz, years ago.

Hopefully he will get bored sitting at home watching football on TV, climb down, hash out what his role will be in the set-up, and fly back in the summer.

In reply to your comment, Ed001, I would say that most of us find ourselves to be where we are in life, because that's the limit of our ability or our ambition. If Buvac has always been a number 2 to Klopp for all these years, maybe it's because that's where he is best suited to be? Klopp has clear leadership abilities that nobody can deny, and this is very important at a club like LFC. Do you remember Steve Clarke under KD? He was very highly rated, did a good job of setting up our defense, and yet failed as a manager on his own. Just an example. I'm not saying at all that Buvac's fate should be always as a number 2, or have to bow down to others in the staff. I'm just saying he's no untested novice and has a history as both player and coach and knows the footballing world/ environment really well. I'm super surprised all this couldn't have waited until the season was over. Destabilizes the team and puts him under a bad light.

{Ed001's Note - I would say that is very often not true, otherwise explain how Sam Allardyce is still getting jobs? Or Alan Pardew?}

24.) 30 Apr 2018
30 Apr 2018 17:50:11
Eds how inportant is Buvac to the project? Do you know if there are certain responsibilities that are exclusively his ie scouting/ traning etc.

{Ed001's Note - training and tactics are his areas. In the short term his loss will have little to no effect. Long term it depends on how well we replace him, unless they sort things out.}

1. Haa. Ed001 comment on Big Sam and Pardew had me laughing (because it's so true) . While we hope that competence, aptitude, ability and decency are key qualities in determining our career opportunities and ceiling, it isn't always the case. There are other things like contacts and relationships, supposed relevant experiences, limited options of those available, once-off / previous but dated successes that people still clamor about, reputation, etc. That is how some incompetent or semi-competent people continue to hold big jobs while others are still waiting for their chance.

2. Being marginalized is never a good feeling, especially when your role and functions are being redefined so drastically. I just wonder if this is a case of Klopp adapting (as Ed002 often said he is a stubborn man) while Buvac not doing so / or agreeing to it. But to have the fall-out made public now is indeed, very bad timing.

3. Be it reconciliation or replacement, it is imperative to find the right man. Many a great manager had lost their way after their able partner moved on (cue Brian Clough) and I certainly hope this isn't the case for Klopp for the sake of LFC.

{Ed001's Note - I don't believe it is only about him feeling marginalised as such. More that they have fought in the past but Buvac has always swiftly resolved their differences because they are friends and Klopp needed him. Now Klopp has others he no longer needs Buvac in the same way so Buvac is not under the same pressure to resolve it to help him out.

When your best friend or a close family member needs your help, even though s/he is being a little bitch about everything and you end up bickering constantly, you do tend to just put it aside to help her/him. But the moment s/he stops needing your help and s/he acts like a little bitch, you just say sod em and leave them to it. While I am not saying Klopp is acting like a little bitch, I am just pointing out that the motivation to resolve their differences is lessened when there is no longer that need for your presence.}

Anyone that is driven wants to progress and grow in their career and lives, and coupled with Ed1's comments regarding his decisions/ suggestions/ input taking a backseat to others, maybe he just feels he needs to be number 1 to grow and progress and try it out elsewhere. No one wants to be number 2 their entire career, they eventually progress and grow to number 1. If he is given a chance elsewhere, good on him and wish him the best of luck! Well deserved.
