I'll be honest and say that based on his Arsenal form I never wanted Ox near the squad never mind the team. As AR I never saw him play before he joined Liverpool but I have to say he gives 110% every time he get's on the pitch I know he has some rough edges but like everyone else he will sort them out.

To be fair tho, most fans are only capable of seeing passed their nose. So tto make thr connection between Ox's skillset blossoming under klopp while trying ignore what he had shown at arsenal is too much for most fans! Haha.

I didn’t want us to sign him and thought it was a frivolous waste of money based on his performances at Arsenal. However, Oxlade has worked hard and put in some mature performances, he has also conducted himself well and shown he wants to play for the shirt. I’m happy that he is proving my doubts wrong about him. A great man once said that if the facts change, I change with them, what do you do sir? And those words apply here.

I liked Ox and I thought Robbo was a good signing.
I didn’t think we “needed” to pay £40m for Ox and couldn’t see him starting in centre mid.
Fair play he’s earned his place in the team.

Well said Spasmith, I can understand having a different view on who we could potentially sign, but if Klopp and the club like what they see, they are probably more qualified than most to make a decision on whether they are right for the club, I remember someone calling the Ox an overweight Andros Townsend, at best, Im just glad that fact has changed now ;) I really like the guy, I'm sure he's great to have round the dressing room too.

The problem with Ox is he came in at a stella fee 40m for someone who only had 12 months on his contract certainly upset supporters but he has justified that figure so far and that is credit to the Ox whereas Robbo was the opposite a cheap signing who has turned good and if not no one would have batted an eye lid. I personally was more worried about the OX than Robbo purely on the fee paid and that is why we should not worry about fees paid.

Oxlade-Chamberlain now has two goals and five assists in his last ten starts.
That's more than he managed in all competitions in five of his six seasons at Arsenal.
I think fans had the right to air their opinions on Ox when we signed him and his Arsenal Stats were not very good. However like the rest of the lads he is proving me and them wrong with his performances this season and hopefully long may it continue.

Replacing Coutinho with the Ox has to be up there with Salah for transfer of the season. As with Robertson, Klopp allowed him to settle before throwing him in and that has been the difference. He has improved game by game and the team as a whole has improved and confidence is higher than it has ever been under Klopp. Ox deserves a lot of credit for the choice to leave Arsenal too which couldn't have been an easy decision.

I was one of the fans who didn’t understand the transfer. He was average at best for arsenal and his career was seemingly going nowhere, he was near the end of his contract and the price seemed extausionate and his injury record is poor. I stand by my views but am glad he’s doing well, makes you wonder if Jack Wilshere could thrive here? Arsenal fans are saying Wenger hasn’t improved a player for years, could Klopp get a tune out of Jack?
Robertson was always going to be a decent squad signing for the price and he has done well. I still think he has a lot to improve on though, his crossing under pressure and blocking of crosses seems to be his weaknesses but I now feel the need for a left back has gone. especially with the lack of real top quality ones around and factor in he’s still fairly young and will surely improve more I think it’s been a top signing.

Ox and Robbo have been fantastic, but I think we should wait until they have shown it consistently for 2 full seasons. This time last year we were ecstatic with Gini's signing, calling it a masterstroke etc. but we are frustrated by his inconsistency. In terms of talent, one could argue Gini and Can are better than Hendo, but we love Hendo because he hardly ever has a bad game. So hopefully Ox and Robbo will turn out to be more like the Mane signing than Gini.

Well who would have thought it. A world class manager knows more about players than posters on a rumours site.
Wonders will never cease.

The majority of the fans haven't a clue, me included on what to look for in a player. It doesn't matter how articulate you are when describing a player. It means very little, just that you can post with nice paragraphs with the correct punctuation. As you say the Ox is a very good example of most fans not wanting him yet actually doing very well.

Leave it to the manager and the scouts in the hope they get it right.

Airing your opinion on players is one thing. but most people don't analyse the game. Ox has always been good, even at Arsenal, but he was always pressing the opposition on his own which made him look like a headless chicken to most. Its a shame our fans don't really understand our philosophy so they couldn't see how Ox would fit in. just like how Salah was going to be a sub for Mane and Coutinho as he is just a chelsea reject apparently. and Coutinho is as good as Neymar. i've never fully rated Coutinho as he would pick and choose when to turn it on and has never been 142m worth of footballer. On the other hand people wanted us to sign Walcott who is utter shizer and ended up where he belongs lol. there is nothing wrong with having an opinion but not every opinion holds weight or even logic lol. so if your opinion is purely emotional without logical thought processing just keep it to yourself lol.

I have a tendency to agree shreyanspatil. Or, if not at Anfield, then at another top club. Infact, I would say that about quite a few of the Arsenal squad. They just seem like a sinking ship at the moment. The club could benefit from a coaching and squad overhaul and several of their players would benefit hugely from a change of scenery as well. Not that I am complaining!

I really like Ox, but just as he wasn't rubbish when he came it, he's not the messiah now either. He's had a couple of really good games, and I like his direct runs from midfield, but let's not get carried away and compare him to Coutinho or Salah just yet! Some people are way to quick to judge someone too harshly or declare players world class.

BTW I'm loving the team as it stands now. VVD, Robertson and Karius have made a huge difference at the back. TAA is playing really well too. Our midfield seems to be settling in much better with Hendo fit again, Ox adapting, Milner playing well, and our front 3 is just incredible. I think we're in really good shape going into the back end of the season.

I hadn't seen anything of Robertson, so when we signed i didn't have an opinion i just hoped that he was decent and he definitely showing that i feel.

Always thought the OX never managed to live up to his potential at arsenal. Some games he would play like a beast but struggle to find that form, in his last season i think it was his best performances came from the centre but still it was the consistency i was worried about. When he played for arsenal i felt he had more average games than better games. That said i also thought he doesn't get a proper run out in the team. Wenger hardly ever gave him 90 mins. I felt the price paid was too high.

He has started showing some good consistency and i feel it will take a little more to cement a starting spot, he is growing and adapting stringing together strong performances and you never know, under klopp and this team he could find his potential. Even if im not a player's biggest fan, they are a Liverpool player and i will always give my full support in wanting them to be or develop into top players! I wish that for the OX!
