What players? List ones who are available and want to come to Liverpool.

I agree with you mate that it’s frustrating that we haven’t got a schemer in to replace Phil but for to long we’ve panick buyer and not waited for the right option which I’m glad we seem to have stopped under Klopp . People will say we new Phil was going long ago why wasn’t a replacement lined up but good players are at good clubs if we can’t get the right player in now don’t buy for the sake of buying is what I say.

Isn't it a little early to start drinking? We beat off Chelsea, City and Arsenal for Virgil.

In contrast, United got Sanchez because nobody else (even City) would touch him at the price.

Arsenal got Mkhitaryan who they didn't really want or need (watching him and Ozil get in each others way will be fun) . If they are foolish enough to sign PEA than more fool them!

Laporte is a decent player to be fair, but he hasn't even been capped for France yet. He's not as good as everyone thinks, but at 23 he does have time to become top quality. He's not as good as Van Dijk though and he's also pretty slow so won't suit a high line much more than Otamendi did.

Grass isn't always greener.

{Ed002's Note - It is not "in contrast" - Liverpool paid very considerably more than Southampton were asking Manchester City for van Dyke as the asking price to Liverpool was heavily loaded and non-negotiable.

Arsenal had previously tried to buy Mkhitaryan - and interest from elsewhere would have seen Manchester United trying to use him in part exchange for player they want from that club.}

Modern day fan there spouting absolute nonsense. Apart from our midfield, our team is perfectly capable of finishing top and potentially go further in the champs league.

How is someone with a different opinion automatically make them this so called modern day fan who spouts rubbish 🤦🏻‍♂. It's the fans who believe only their opinion counts are the ones who normally spout the rubbish.

{Ed002's Note - After yesterday it appears a very large majority of fans see Liverpool as a one man team and he has of course now left. Their expectations can be fulfilled by Liverpool dropping to 7th in the league or possibly eighth and making sure they get knocked out of the Champions League and FA Cup. Else they will be most unhappy.}

Ed 02 I only came on briefly yesterday evening so I must have missed all the drama. We are far from a 1 man team but I think every team would miss 1 key player. Would Utd not miss De Gea, Spurs Kane, Chelsea Hazard and City KDB. Yes all those teams including us still have top top players still in the side but 1 key player missing can make a difference. After all last season we lost Mane and our season almost fell apart. This season is far from over and for me (my opinion before I upset any snowflakes) it's a gamble we are taking. If we finish top 4 the gamble pays off if we don't then obviously it hasn't. Either way I'm fully behind the team and I enjoy reading all kinds of different opinions on here. Imagine how boring it would be if we all shared the same one.

{Ed002's Note - No, other teams do suck it up and carry on. Liverpool it seems simply cannot cope at all}

No one else has signed anyone except a swap between Arsenal and United - relax! VVD is not a 75 million player, just cos he's cost more doesn't mean better though. Still better than what we had, but you're crazy if you think he's top class.

not signing a player isn't the same as not trying to sign anyone. we've already brought in Ox, salah, VVD and Keita, although we have to wait for Keita. If no one else comes in, could it just be that the players we want aren't available right now? we've already paid over the odds for VVD and Keita, do people just want the club to keep breaking club records with each signing?
WHen Ox came everyone was questioning where he would play. now coutinho is gone he is playing regularly, and playing well. I say let's stick with the guys we have in Red right now. they've done the job so far, dead keen to see these lads step it up for the rest of the season.

Bloody hell, chin up TopoftheKop. Get behind the Redman. We’ll do the right business at the right moment.

The club knew Couthino wanted out for a while, I just hope there was/ is a plan in place and it’s just not delivered as yet. Whilst his form may have dilpped, a fully fit, focused PC would be missed from any team and we clearly missed that last night. Must be patient though and not just buy for the sake of it.

Some mentioning Sanchez, serious cash and salary involved but he will push them on a notch without doubt.

drogie, that is the most weak and tired point that is constantly made. that the club knew for ages about coutinho going etc etc etc that doesn't make a difference about the timing for other players you want to bring in. unless all the fans want is for the club to spend 10s of millions over and above, breaking new transfer records for each new signing? haven't we done that already?
