Hi eds, I think both PSG and Barcelona are equally attractive for Coutinho to play football and win trophies, it will boil down to who offer more $ right? I think at this moment with Neymar and Thiago Silva and Alves and also Moura in PSG, PSG does look like a better place than Barca. Besides I think arab owner is more than willing to fork out salary then penny pinching Barca.

{Ed002's Note - No, that is not the situation at all. And why would you think Barcelona are "penny pinching"? and why do you rule out other sides?}

Other sides, Ed2?

{Ed002's Note - Of course, Coutinho is a decent player and if he doesn't get his move to Barcelona there will be interest from elsewhere. PSG and Real Madrid are two contenders. There is no reason there won't be more.}

Y "Penny pinching"? Did you miss the greatest ruckus created by Barcelona over Couts in summer? They got 200mil lump sum for Neymar and they started bidding for couts with 70-80mil, 100mil then 120mil and then 80% of fee paid in instalments. Not sure if they justify penny pinching.

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure whay you think the money Barcelona got for Neymar has anything to do with Liverpool at all. You seem to have little grasp about any of this.}

It would seem that Liverpool fans think he's worth more than Barcelona do. It will be a lot of money but not as much as some on here think.

I'd Liverpool refuse to sell to Barcelona, why would he have other options as it'll be clear he's not for sale.

{Ed002's Note - Why would you want a player at the club who doesn't want to be there?}

I see were your coming from Ed02, and I think that if a player really wants to move on, then that's it, let him go,
but if Couts is a decent player then there should be plenty of clubs wanting him,
but if Couts is a great player, then we should get a great price,
and Barcelona have really gone about this transfer the wrong way, and just like clubs like Fulham do not want to deal with Liverpool, we should not deal with Barcelona,
just my view, I am sure that others will think another way .

{Ed002's Note - How have Barcelona gone about the transfer the wrong. They approached the club, held discussions and made offers. Liverpool aren't special in any way - perhaps the fans should get over thinking they are.}

talking about money again only leads to disagreements let's just say there are now other options open to coutinho whom seems to have made it clear he wants out.

It can only be good for LFC for more than one club to express an interest makes negotiations easier.

Sooner he leaves the better for all parties which is clearly going to be Jan by the looks of things.

If someone doesn't want to play for the club we should not show they loyalty in return, cash in replace move on.

Not many progress when they leave LFC.

Any interest from PL clubs Ed002, City?

{Ed002's Note - Not in Coutinho Drogie.}

Ok cheers Ed.
I’m sure the likes of Mané would be of interest!

{Ed002's Note - The only interest I know of in Mane right now comes from foreign shores.}

Ed. I take it if there is to be an agreement in November then it would be announced including the details?

{Ed002's Note - I am not so sure that there would be. Clubs are working all of the time on transfers and I know of a number agreed already. And any agreement does not necessarily mean he will move in January.}

Ed002, sorry to pull you up, You said that Liverpool are not special in any way, I think that there are millions of Liverpool fans all over the world who think that they are . but I do see where you are coming from .

{Ed002's Note - I am sure there are miliions of special Liverpool fans.}

Hi Port Red Why would you want a player at the club who doesn't want to be there? Why would you want an editor on this site that no-one wants to be there? I also think that most fans think their club is special - there is nothing wrong with that!

Any club with their own European cup is special also backed up by the fact LFC V Man U is in top 5 club games in the world.

Definition of special really depends upon fan or player. Likewise what the player wants is usually different to what a fan thinks a player should want. That is why fans are fans and majority of players are just employees.

The issue I'd say with their offer was based on the terms that came out LFC wouldn't see large chunks of what was quoted because the clauses wouldn't come to reality. Like I say if those clauses were genuine.

ED2, I know you likely cannot say and this is the Liverpool page, but care to share whom those transfers that are agreed to are? :) hehehe.

Ed, are the earlier rumours true from the summer about lfc asking for 150m for Couts true or was it a case of them wanting to secure a replacement 1st?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool had a price for the player and it was not met - we spent the summer dealing with this.}
