Hi Ed's, a very good morning.
Would Barcelona be willing to include sergi Roberto in a deal for pipco? Is he on the surplus list? More importantly would the forces at liverpool be interested in player+cash kind of deal?
Thank-you for you kindness in this unkind transfer window.

{Ed002's Note - He is not on the surplus list but the clubs interested in him have had little luck getting Barcelona to talk. Liverpool has shown no interest to date.}

Pipe dream unfortunately. After Messi, Suarez, Busquets, Iniesta, Pique and Alba I would say Roberto is probably the next best they have. He is a really classy midfielder and not a bad right back either.

I get a feeling that any player on Barca's surplus list to be included in a deal would be an above average yet nothing special player, which makes the whole idea of it unappealing.

That team is slim pickings IMO apart from top two and pique.
Maybe Gomes and Ter Stegen + 80million and then we could maybe talk.

I also find it hard to believe that they wouldn't come back.
Real probably will if not as Phil is knocking on the door of best in CAM in world for me. A season in champions league and people start to take seriously.

Question for Ed02: Have Liverpool been aggressive enough in pursuit of players this transfer window? Do you think if we'd have put money where our mouth is we could've got things do for targets?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has gone about the transfers in the entirely wrong way - but it is nothing about money.}

Did I just read "has Liverpool been aggressive enough this window? "
Only way they could have been more aggressive is if VVD and NK where bundled into the boot of Klopps BMW and driven to Melwood.

{Ed002's Note - He has a KR200 - there is only room for one of them.

Should have looked outside the club for a sporting director promoting from within where a culture of incompetance has been prevelant for years just breeds more err incompetance . we have seen more of the same this transfer window. they should burn that rick parry guide to doing transfers.

Why majorly weaken our team selling a player with years of contract when we can keep him, get a good year out of him and sell him for AT LEAST the same price judging by how transfers are rising year by year. its the same as Liepzig (why have no want or need to sell the player and we don't need the money) .

8;minutes and our defence exposed. We are such a good team, something really needs to be done with our defence. Vvd as soon as. It'll be embarrassing but not as embarrassing as losing to mediocre teams.

Ed, sorry couldn't find new post icon. Any idea why we didn't move for Joe Hart? It seems mad as we were the only team at the top he could've gone to bar city. He is surely an upgrade on what we currently have.

{Ed001's Note - because he is crap.}

Totally agree Eds. The only reason he doesn't get called out on his mistakes is 'cause he's English.

Didn't Torinos owner come out and say he didn't expect an England goalkeeper to make so many mistakes? Says it all really.

Fair enough guys. I have to disagree with Steve wonder, England gks have had a hard time over last ten years, Carson Robinson and the other fella all made one mistake and we're dropped forever. I have always felt Hart was over rated but rest of country seemed to disagree. Until the euros where he was crap. What Hart does well is organise and control defence and I feel that is what we are lacking. But I buy that he has lost it.

Nah it seems like he does superred but he just shouts loudly. Literally I think that is his only trick. Shouting and chest thumping.

Sergi roberto is such a tidy passer, If we were to take him i would want him in CM, not being put as a rb like Barcelona shifted him out. Would still rather keep couts though.

Dear Jurgen. we're going to take your star player and you can have anyone off our surplus list.

Yeh right!

Under FSG, we haven't taken any surplus players as part of big money transfers out. I don't know if FSG think the supporters see such a scenario as Liverpool accepting cast-offs, but the sale of Torres, Sterling and Suarez didn't bring back any players from Chelsea, Man City or Barcelona.

I suspect it will be the case this time too. Why should Liverpool buy players who we don't need?

@ superred91

losing to mediocre teams?

Last time I checked 3-3 was not a losing score line.

Red, it sure felt like it was a loss .

Fair point resend but we were losing 2.1 when I wrote that post and wasn't necessarily talking about watford. Was talking about defence in general.

Yeah, again I thought there were tonnes of positives from watford game.

If Barcelona want coutinio and they want to offer a player or two in the deal then it has to be one of their top players. Next time they offer rahifina we should send em markovic in no 10 shirt. Don't think the part exchange is going to happen is it? Just psper talk. The first two offers were cash.

I think if we were to do a swap it has to be iniesta. If it truly is a iniesta replacement (pc) then we'll take the replaced player. The fact is, they just want the world's best south America players.
