Hi Eds. Great job as always. Would I be right in thinking that Liverpool would want this potential signing of Wijnaldum completed before the US trip? Or would they be happy if he, or Any signing met the squad out there? I personally like the fact we seem to be doing our business quickly at the start of the window. Also do you have any info on what Klopp may think of the academy kid, Brookes Lennon? Seems decent, what I have seen. Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - yes, it is seen as an easy quick deal to make. Which worries me, as we have not done the usual research, we have taken a punt on a player offered to us. Rather than spending a long time tracking the lad and looking at him properly, checking out his background etc, we have been offered him, Klopp liked the look of him, so we have bought him. I really do not like that. Those are the transfers that usually go tits up.}

Ed01, it sounds worrying from the sound of it. Fingers crossed.

{Ed001's Note - we just have to trust in Klopp, only time will tell, but I would prefer it if we just went and got those we targeted, rather than failing because we messed them about and end up jumping on a similar player offered to us. Due diligence has not been done and those kind of deals are a much bigger risk.}

Hmm interesting! Folk may think, it may even be so, that research has not been undertaken but it seems a little unfair that a high number of fans seem to be sub-conciously claiming to have better instinct or talent spot capabilities than a proven Man-Management Manager, one who seemingly gets the best out of players with differing backgrounds. For what it is worth having spent a good time in Rotterdam and getting to see this man at his first club, for me I expected a big (maybe bigger) move much sooner. He is a goal scoring Midfielder with ability to change games and let's not forget he top scored in a relegated team with only 2 fewer goals than the top LFC scorer (DS)! Write this man and Klopp's ability to bring the best out of him at your peril but, at least as Ed001 is reluctantly seeming to do, give it a chance!

What worries me Ed1, is the abundance of attacking midfielders we're buying. It makes me think that Klopp expects to lose a couple.

I personally don't think Wijnaldum is good enough to replace any of them, unless Klopp is going to tell him he needs to work his arse off to succeed.

I work with a lot of Geordies (a few of them being season ticket holders) . The general opinion on GW from these fans is he's lazy, inconsistent and not the type of player they want at there club. I'd take the opinion of people watching the player week in week out, at the ground over the MOTD fans any day. The general consensus was Rafa doesn't like him and the performances of the team went up when he started to leave GW out near the end of the season. Let's hope they are wrong and he ups his effort for us! YNWA.

You'll not need to worry Nick. Program is coming your way ;)

For "program" read "Pogba"

Ed, you mentioned about we've bought him, so are we safe to assume this is as good as done? Cheers.

{Ed001's Note - hardly, no deal is as good as done, as we have shown this summer with the Chilwell deal and Zielinski. We seem to find a way to mess them all up.}

GW is a fantastic player, when Newcastle got him I was shocked, he was the heart and soul of the PSV champs trust me, pure class. He surely lost his mojo once the Newcastle fiasco unfolded, don't forget Mc ****up and Cockupcini were there, very demotivating. If we get him you will be amazed at his quality. The fee is a snip compared to what else is on the market. I tell you to he is a fantastic player no doubt in my mind. "Doesn't track back" are you sure? Seen him on dozens of occasions in the flesh in Holland he is an engine. Pray we get him and not one of our rivals.

Good post Yung. I also saw him a lot in Netherlands and I also thought "this guy will go to a top club". I think the doubters would be eating humble pie too but that is only an opinion and even if my opinion was different I would get behind my manager and my team regardless rather than squeal like a pig about it! I wasn't (am not) a fan of Gotze so glad we missed out, but if he'd have come he'd have been welcomed and supported by me, as would the manager who brought him in.

Why go for another attacking midfielder when we have 4 specific ones on the books at the moment already, that makes no sense, This means one of them have to be going now. and i hope its not Countinho, GW is a downgrade on him. He is known to throw strops and sulk and doesn't work hard, if you think he tracks back and likes to get stuck in, have a look at whoscored or even watch a game of his on replay, you can't blame Newcastle for all his problems. No doubt he is good going forward on his day. Just a question L8where you supportive of the Balotelli deal?

If last season was anything to go by we need a really good defensively competent centre midfielder. Newcastle are asking for something like £27m on a player who was poor for 75% of last season and plays in a position we already have covered. Just to put this in context, Everton are looking at signing William Carvalho, who is possibly one of the best young centre midfielders out there and is a superb defensively minded player and not much gets past him, for around the same money that Newcastle want for an infinitely poorer footballer. An idiot and his money is easily parted and we appear to be the biggest idiot in the village at the moment.

I have to say, I think he's a top player albeit an inconsistent one. If Klopp can manage him in a way that brings out his top performances on a consistent basis then this should be a great piece of business.

That said, the main concern for me is where he fits in. We're very top heavy in this department now. Surely one of the established players is going. If not, I'm truly baffled.

Looking and getting are 2 different things, I look at loads of ferraris, but haven't got one, just saying😃.
