Eds is Ben Chilwell still a firm target and possibility for us this summer? Or only if Moreno leaves?

{Ed001's Note - we are looking for a left back to compete/replace Moreno.}

I would rather we replace Moreno edoo1, don't know much about chilwell tbh apart from, he is highly thought of but that's not much to go on these days as most players are, for the reported fee of £8m, I would rather we try and sign Jonas hector, at least this guy can defend.

{Ed001's Note - Moreno is still young enough to raise his game is the point. So it could end up pushing him on to achieve, in a similar way to Finnan, who would just get better and better each time a new right back arrived.}

Steve Finnan? Omg. he, phil bab and neil ruddock typify the souness era.

{Ed001's Note - do you actually know who Steve Finnan is? In fact do you actually have any idea what you are talking about as both him and Babb joined us after Souness had gone.}

Completely agree with Ed on this one, Moreno is still very young and has so much quality. If he wasnt already playing for us he is th type of player we would be screaming for us to sign. For me the faults in his defending are things like positioning and being rash which a coach with the reputation of Klopp for improving players should have no problem fixing.

I see your point ed001, let's hope the message gets through to Moreno, as up to know his intelligence is sadly lacking.

Steve Finnan the best RB since Rob Jones.

Steve finnan was quality and that lad above Leesomething has as much football knowledge as my 2 yr old daughter.

Always liked finnan, but curious about eds opinion of arbeloa (forgive spelling) as a player.

Personally always thought he was under-rated as a full-back. Not the greatest going forward but solid defensively. Two champions league medals and two European championships + a la liga title (plus a few other cups) isn't too bad.

{Ed001's Note - excellent defender, decent technically as a player too, the issue with him was he never wanted to be in Liverpool and forced his way out. Bit of a sulker by all accounts.}

Oh and a World Cup and two euro championship medals. weirdly forgot he played spain.

Chilwell is a real possibility then mate? Do you think he can make it in prem?

{Ed002's Note - Try the search engine. Nothing has changed.}

Agree, Moreno has his weaknesses but if he can polish up his positional sense, improve his crossing slightly and learn how to use his right foot, he'll be very good. He has time on his side.

I would love to see us bring in a proper defensive option like Hector (who as a bonus can double at DM in case of injuries like we have now) .

Steve finnan. Unsung hero. Fantastic defender. Our best right back since babbel.

Completely agree Max. Such an underrated player. One of those who consistently had 8/ 10.

I remember istanbul when for the second half the team came out and Finnan was gone and Traore was still on the pitch. I nearly cried. Got over it soon enough though :o)

oh such good times.

Even though he is still hopeless with an end product in the final opposing third, and his defensive positioning, I really think Moreno has improved his tackling over the season. I see more cleaner tackles. But he clearly has not improved as much as some of the others. I agree that he needs a push. Either through competition for his place, or out the door. Up to him.

I like Moreno an despite his faults he still rolls up his sleeves an try's his best. He has improved an will push on again . Watch him support going forward think he's let down be couts reluctance to track back.

Moreno has improved an we can't just look at his positioning from the point of players getting in behind him when the ball breaks down during our attack. Against Villareal for instance, they continuously targeted that area and Klopp did nothing about it, right up to the last min and ultimately where the goals came from. Moreno doesn't be in such advanced positions just because he likes to attack. he is obviously told to, or else he would be on the bench for ignoring orders.

Moreno has improved a lot. Goes missing sometimes but is starting to look a real threat bombing forward.

Can't believe all the praise 4 Moroneno? The guy hasn't a brain in his head. Can't defend 4 toffee and has no positional sense. I thought it was still important 4 defenders 2 defend? Guess not.

Theres no comparison between Finnan and moreno in my opinion as as a young player I played aginst Finnan years ago regulary when he was with Wembly utd here in ireland and back then he was such a great reader of the game @ such a young age at that time if you put moreno in the same squad as finnan and finnan was at the age i played against him, you would start finnan everytime and as for playing for Liverpool Ed is 100% correct everytime a player was brought in to compete with him he would improve immensely and that showed his commitment and character that many players lack these days its such a pity players like him are far and few between these days, I really do hope we can find a solid replacement for moreno as he has always been a liability since coming here and if i'm honest Clyne is not too far behind him as well.

Always felt finan got bullied by anything lobed in to the back post, now realise that all fullbacks get bullied in the air. Quality player apart from that.

Question for Leek. Where do you get your info from? I find it fascinating that you could post something on here that's sooooooooo far off the hook that. Forget it. i'm done.
