The Athletic climbing we have approached Newcastle over Isak, no offer but thought we are willing to offer £120 million.
No idea if true, or if they are making a story up based on conversations on this site.

Liverpool have contacted Newcastle about sale of Isak according to Romano, agree a deal for sale of Isak or Liverpool enter race for Ekitike is how he is putting it?
2
15 Jul 2025 13:09:01
Frankfurt have rejected Newcastle’s bid for Ekitike apparently.

if we do get Isak and that is a massive IF
It still likely means we'll be saying goodbye to Diaz and also Nunez which literally just leaves Salah Isak and Gakpo as our choices.
That would be an insanely great top 3 but if any of them get injured the drop off will be severe.
i'd be keen on Mateta as a backup,
Rotation of Wirtz, Elliot etc filling on the wings if we ever need it.

Eki thump.

15 Jul 2025 14:01:39
There would be still be Chiesa, Wirtz and even Danns so I doubt an issue.
3
15 Jul 2025 14:17:51
Plus young Rio and Frimpong who can play wing also.
Chiesa
Isak
Salah
Wirtz
Gakpo
Danns
Frimpong
Doak
Plenty of options if Nunez and Diaz left albeit some are kids yet to learn there trade at top level.

Would we get a free run at Mateta? That’s the question.

Agree with you there SSH. I don’t really want us to have 6-8 £50m+ players for the 3-4 positions, that’s City or Chelsea not us. I’d much rather we have some youth a chance.
ST - Isak (please! ) with Danns/ Chiesa/ Wirtz as backup
LW - Gakpo with Rio, Wirtz, Chiesa as backup
RW - Mo with Frimpong or Doak as backup (albeit I think Doak will go in a deal like we did for Quansah)
CAM - Wirtz with Szobo or Elliot as backup (again, think Elliot may go as part of the Isak deal) .
At a stretch I think we could buy a versatile forward - like Fofana - if we can get him for a decent price.
In light of recent horrible events, I can see Chiesa staying and the extra forward will depend, imo, on whether the youth is kept or go/ on loan.

Rio has been impressing and will get his chance this year. As Akira mentioned Nunez has chatted to slot and the club want to keep him. Isak will come and diaz will go for 70m
Thanks.

Bayern are preparing a new offer for Diaz according to Florian Pettenberg.

58.6 million pound bid for Diaz from bayern Munich rejected.

15 Jul 2025 13:08:21
£58m 🤣 don’t shoot don’t score i suppose.
Stick another £20m on that.

15 Jul 2025 13:28:29
I presume that mean Lucho or his agent, has told them he's open to the move?

Let’s be real, Diaz isn’t an £80m player in any market apart from the Saudi one, they are the only teams that would look to put in an offer like that or meet our ‘asking price’. I know things can change but we seemed open to moving him on, unless this was all just PR for contract negotiations, indicating we have interest in other LW to somehow get an advantage at the negotiation table with Diaz reps.
I just think based on what we know, he clearly has a desire to leave and we have been open to a sale at the right price, I think in that instance, £60-70m is the right price. Same with Nunez, he’s a £50-60m player so anything in that range should be accepted and we move on to better targets. Whilst Diaz has been one of our better forwards, he’s still relatively unproductive and hasn’t shown he wants to be here on multiple occasions now. We want players that want to be here and win, so the likes of Nunez, Diaz and konate we should look to move on if that’s their desire. Especially when there are quality replacements out there interested in joining us.
Im guessing our unwillingness to sell might be because the replacements would be difficult to get at reasonable prices or wages (Gordon would cost a fortune and isn’t worth the fees being suggested and rodrygo would demand mad wages etc) . Diaz might just be seen as a safe bet to stick with based on these factors.

We paid £37.5m, he sure as sh1t hasn't regressed, but has obviously aged, but at 28 has a resale value for Bayern, but no profit on it. Personally if it wasn't for the market being nuts for younger players and especially wingers, i'd say as close to £60m would be a win. However finding a good young replacement (possibly behind Cody) would be difficult for that amount and more importantly for the time being we would be making the squad worse.
But the constant questions around him is getting very tedious, so that's either him, his agent or the club are messing everyone around.

Diaz scored 18 goals and assisted how many in a league winning side, and is probably the best dribbler in the league.
Of course he's worth north of 70m.

67 million bid from bayern for diaz rejected.
1
15 Jul 2025 12:44:30
Whats the asking price anyone?
0
15 Jul 2025 12:49:07
Eh that'll be 67.5m euros, which is like £58m, they're absolute pish takers.
5
15 Jul 2025 12:50:42
£67m or €67m? A significant £9m difference in bid amounts.
1
15 Jul 2025 12:56:26
670 million pound.
2
15 Jul 2025 12:59:21
Bid was 67m euros. Will take a lot closer to 80m euros to get it over the line.
3
15 Jul 2025 13:03:04
It's saying the club value him at €100m+.
2
15 Jul 2025 13:08:41
I just keep coming back to the fact that Elanga went for 55m, Diaz surely is worth 20m more than that at the very least.

Has Diaz asked to leave ref DO?
Seems like bayern have turned his head .
. any chance he stays with improved contract. ir we okay hard ball and he stays as he is under contract?
1
15 Jul 2025 12:59:30
I personally would take bayerns bid 58 million pounds is acceptable, rather that than lose him on a free in a couple of years.
But then on the other hand this team realy is getting dismantled and rebuilt and too much change too quickly is a concern I have.
1
15 Jul 2025 13:03:10
By September this team is going to look
A lot different
I can’t see Diaz Nunez Elliott or even konate staying now u know.
2
15 Jul 2025 13:03:15
Papers saying that Diaz has asked to leave as Bayern have prepared a £58 mil offer.
0
15 Jul 2025 13:17:01
He still has two years left on his contract. The club is under no compulsion to sell if they don’t want to.
