I read it too, who is the source? Apparently the bid won’t leak straight away. According to the source, the timing is deliberate and designed to avoid the media circus Bayern are preparing. The club is trying to protect its image, not win the deal.
From Liverpool’s side, there is no panic. There is structure, clarity and momentum. Arne Slot has already made an impression, and the project at Anfield speaks directly to Wirtz’s ambition and style.

A Cantona / Salah level signing imo. This guy is a generational talent, and one who does not prioritise glamour and the big time as someone like Jude Bellendingham does.
Wirtz would replace Trent to the power of 3 in my humble opinion.

Why is it a troll account? He might not be right, but looking at the other posts it seems a very serious and measured Bayern fan account with analysis and news.
And 50/ 50 is pretty high odds for a troll account. He has categorically stuck his neck on the line saying wirtz won't go to Bayern and they are pissed off with how Bayern has tried to engineer the move pressuring him to go there.

Cantona is one of my favorite footballers ever despite playing for united, though I have to say my respect for him is compounded by what he has done after football. Man was from an anti fascist family, karate kicked a national front supporter in the stands, has spoken constantly about the problem of homelessness etcetera.

I heard these rumours are completely false. Wirtz is staying at Leverkusen and wants to stay in Germany. Him and his reps are discussing an extension with a release clause.

I've been trying to find out some info about outgoings, as a lot is about incomings at the moment. With Frimpong, Kerkez and Wirtz being the only concrete ones.
Players like Phillips, Williams, Trent and other youngsters and fringe players are all set to leave. You can add Morton, Nunez and Tsimikas to that list. Kelleher too.
Potential sales of Endo, Doak and Gomez if their valuation is met.
Not actively looking to sell Jota, Quansah, Diaz or Chiesa unless the right offer comes in.
As always take these as you want, just what I've heard about.

Unless he wanted to leave I’d be very reluctant to sell Endo. He can cover a few positions, always available and is able to play at a decent level straight away.

I'd keep Endo. Never let us down this season. I'd like to see him get more minutes. OP you didn't mention Elliott. As much as he loves the club, he's too small for a mid and too slow for a forward. He's a bit like Emile Smith Rowe for me and I think he'll do well at a similar level club.

@Marty, I agree mostly. It is a rumours site and so long as people treat them as rumours it’s all good. The problem I have is people saying stuff like ‘X has signed’ which is just nonsense as the club announced when layers are signed not people on a social, forum who just wish what they are saying is true and that they know something the rest of us don’t.

All in all there could be a fairly large kitty generated through sales, especially with Edwards chiselling the granny out of everyone.
I don't see Slot having any emotional attachments - he will be ruthless if a player is unlikely to ever fit into his plans.
With Wirtz playing the bobby role, and a proper CF option signed, we will be a force to be reckoned with.

I think we will certainly see Khelleher, Morton, Nunez, Jota, Tsimikas, Phillips, Williams and Doak leave if fees can be agreed. Depending on incomings very likely either of Elliot or Jones leaves and Endo.
Outside chances of Quansah, Beck, Ramsey, Robertson, Chambers, . A fair bit of money especially if we off load some to Saudi clubs.

He was close to joining us a few years ago, but it fell through and it appears he still wants to make the move. Alonso wants Wirtz! Well Xabi does have an extra circa 50 mill to spend with getting Arnold on a freebie, whereas we have circa 50 mill less.
No one knows Wirtz's capabilities better than Xabi who has had Wirtz, under his wings for two years, must be a top, top player, and Xabi also does his old club Bayer a favour by removing him from the Bundesliga, which Arne can also most readily accommodate.
One has to hope that slime ball Guardiola withdrew because he didn't want another Liverpool victory against him this season, you have to think the odds look good with Guardiola snaking back under his stone.

Ed I see where you're coming from and you could be right, but transfers can change very quickly, and he was only all set for Bayern because they were the only team having serious discussions until we suddenly entered the chat a week ago.
I don't think Wirtz would reject Bayern because of loyalty to Leverkusen, Trent has gone to Madrid despite being cognisant (ok maybe that's arguable) that he'd damage his relationship with Liverpool fans. Lewandowski, Gotze and Hummels also left BvB for Bayern. If he rejects Bayern I'd say its because he just likes our proposal better than theirs.
we've had serious talks with his family and Edwards has flown to Boston to get the deal package approved, so I don't reckon agreeing a deal with Leverkusen is the main obstacle, the obstacle is just beating Bayern's proposal.

Looking at some of the press in Germany, including ex Bayern player Stefan effenberg (decent player for fiorentina) piling on telling wirtz to hurry up and make up his mind to sign for Bayern, plus the press campaign Bayern have orchestrated saying he only wants Bayern etc., to the Bayern leaks saying that Liverpool are serious and might be advancing to save face in case they don't get him, it all seems really hysterical and can't be pleasant for the player and his family to deal with. It's bullying behaviour to be fair, I can understand why no club in Germany wants to be party to this sort of nonsense. They are the Madrid of Germany.

Nick, various journos have said that stories about Edwards flying to Boston are false, and that Hughes is handling all transfer affairs anyway, so if anybody was to fly it would be him (Lewis Steele then said why would Edwards even need to fly when he can just call them on the phone)

We need to recover some of our outlay but no big European club is going to want to take the gamble on a big fee.
A loan with an obligation to buy to a European side or a permanent sale to a Saudi team might be the best offer financially we can get.

My opinion on Ekitike is that he’s 6ft2 / 189cm and only 70kg so I fear he’d get outmuscled in the Premier League. He is skilful but I fear he’d doesn’t quite have the decisionmaking needed either.
There is also the issue of his price skyrocketing in recent months.
I’d rather Hughes went for a different wildcard deal.

I’ve only wanted two specific players to join before they were even linked in the past. Those two were firmino and Fabinho. I’ve felt the same way about wirtz for the last couple of years. I’m praying the luck continues and he actually signs. Unbelievable player.

You know why City back away Ed? A lot of journalists saying the cost is too high for them. That sound ridiculous to me considering how they were spending money nonstop for the past few years. I don't think there is any price that is "too high" for them.

I think he'll join us, they won't want to sell him to Bayern so I really don't see it happening. I think we'll sign him. He'll be our big signing of the summer.

I’m sure they won’t want sell to Bayern but ultimately if that’s where the player wants to go (don’t know if he does) then I’m sure that’s where he will go. The player has all the power now.
